Policy Grievance - Union. The Federation may file a written grievance where a dispute involving a question of general application or interpretation or should any other dispute arise, or where a group of employees or the Federation has a grievance, being specific as to the alleged violation and as to the relief sought. Such grievance must be filed within ten (10) working days of the circumstances which lead to the complaint, or employee(s) becoming aware of the circumstances leading to the grievance, but not thereafter, to the Human Resources Manager. A meeting with the Human Resources Manager may be requested (at which the President, Chief Negotiator and Grievance Officer of the Federation shall be present) within ten (10) working days from the date of filing the grievance. The Human Resources Manager will within ten (10) working days after the meeting give a written reply to the grievance to the Federation. If the written reply has not settled the grievance to the satisfaction of the Federation, or if a written reply is not received by the Federation within ten (10) working days after the meeting with the Human Resources Manager, the Federation may within ten (10) working days after the receipt of the reply or within twenty (20) working days after the mailing of delivery of the grievance in case no written reply is received, refer the grievance to arbitration. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, the Federation shall comply with the time limits set out in this clause respecting any such grievance will be deemed to have been abandoned.

Policy Grievance - Union. The Grievance Procedure may be utilized by the Union in processing a policy grievance which is not a personal grievance involving the individual rights of an employee or group of employees which alleges a violation of this agreement. Such a policy grievance may be introduced by any two of the Union Executive at Step Two of the grievance procedure within 10 working days after the alleged violation of the agreement.

  • Group Grievance Where a number of employees have identical grievances and each employee would be entitled to grieve separately they may present a group grievance in writing signed by each employee who is grieving to the Administrator or her designate within ten (10) days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee(s). The grievance shall then be treated as being initiated at Step No. 1 and the applicable provisions of this Article shall then apply with respect to the processing of such grievance.

  • Union Policy Grievance The Union may institute a grievance consisting of an allegation of a general misinterpretation or a violation by the Employer of this Agreement in writing at Step Number 2 of the grievance procedure, providing that it is presented within ten (10) working days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have originated or occurred. However, it is expressly understood that the provisions of this clause may not be used to institute a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees which such employee or employees could themselves initiate as an individual or group grievance and the regular grievance procedure shall not be thereby bypassed.
