Planning/Preparation Period. (1) All elementary school employees in the District shall have at least five (5) hours per week during the workday for the purpose of planning. Every effort will be made to ensure that at least 4 out of 5 planning periods will be reserved for individual planning time weekly. Site administrators shall make reasonable efforts, consistent with staffing and program needs, to maximize and protect teacher planning time and to provide such employees with at least forty (40) consecutive minutes of duty-free planning time during the workday; a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive minutes of duty-free planning time shall be provided. Site administrators shall provide employees at the same school with equal planning time to the extent possible consistent with program and staffing needs. Activities such as team or department planning related to the delivery of instruction are appropriate activities to be carried out during planning time and are not to be considered “duty”. Every unit member assigned to sixth, seventh and eighth grade at a Middle School campus shall have a planning/preparation period commensurate with instructional minutes per period, per day, excluding the positions of TOSA, LST, MST, IB Coordinator, Instructional Coach, Counselor and psychologists. Every unit member assigned to a TK-5th grade classroom, including Elementary PE teachers, shall have a minimum of 217 minutes per 10-day period of planning/preparation time excluding the positions of TOSA, LST, IB Coordinator, Instructional Coach, Counselor and psychologists.

Definition A planning/preparation period is understood to be a period of time within the "teaching day" which is provided for teachers to do a number of professional activities. With the consent of the building principal, teachers may meet together to plan team activities, plan individually, counsel students, xxxx papers, attend to school managerial details, talk with parents, etc. The intent of the planning/preparation period should be clear; however, it is team planning or individual planning - all other acceptable professional activities are secondary to it, and should not be continuously or routinely substituted for it.   • Preparation Period During the preparation period, a teacher will have no other assignment except in an emergency situation. It is recognized that the preparation period is a scheduled part of the teacher's work day and the teacher is expected to be in his/her respective Building. If the teacher must leave the Building during his/her preparation and/or lunch period, he/she must notify the Building switchboard operator.

  • Transition Period Due to the nature of our purchasing process, the District often requires an existing service provider to continue to provide goods and/or services while the District is in the process of advertising, evaluating, and awarding a contract for the provision of the same goods and/or services in the future. To accommodate this process, the Contractor shall agree to maintain the same terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement for a period up to ninety (90) days after the automatic termination of this Agreement at the end of its term, if requested by the District, as a transition period. In addition, if the Contractor is not the successful bidder for a future solicitation for the same or similar services, he or she shall agree to provide the same goods and/or services provided in this Agreement for a period up to ninety (90) days to allow for an orderly transition to the new provider. The District and the Contractor may mutually agree to a longer transition period.

  • Meal Period A Contractor shall schedule an unpaid period of not more than 1/2 hour duration at the work location between the 3rd and 5th hour of the scheduled shift. A Contractor may, for efficiency of operation, establish a schedule which coordinates the meal periods of two or more crafts. If an employee is required to work through the meal period, the employee shall be compensated in a manner established in the applicable Schedule A.

  • Development Period The Contractor may commence pre-construction activities like utility shifting, boundary wall construction or any other activity assigned to the Contractor by the Authority to enable construction of the Project Highway immediately after signing of the Agreement, to the extent that such work is ready for execution. The Parties agree that these works may be taken up and completed to the extent feasible by the Contractor, before declaration of the Appointed Date, but no claim against the Authority for delay shall survive during this period and that the undertaking of these works by the Contractor shall not count towards the Scheduled Construction Period of the project which starts counting only from the Appointed Date. No construction activity of the Project Highway shall be undertaken during the development period.
