Non-degree Programs. Professional personnel enrolled in a graduate level course directly related to the individual’s area of teacher or administrative assignment, but who are not enrolled in a prescribed curriculum, will receive 100% of the full in-state UNH cost or as prescribed in paragraphs three (3) and four (4) of this article, up to eight (8) credits per calendar year, while maintaining a “B” or better grade. “B-“ will not be accepted.

Non-degree Programs. Since both the Town as well as employee profit from education training opportunities, the Chief shall identify appropriate training programs which are available at reasonable cost to the Town, will improve employee performance, and will provide a more efficient and effective operation. The Chief will post notice of all training programs and training schedules provided by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy on the bulletin board in the Reports Room. Where attendance at a training program or school is not ordered by the Chief, but he authorizes and approves participation, an employee who attends such a program shall be reimbursed only for reasonable travel expenses. Any authorized attendance at training sessions and schools by members of the Union will be done with the Town paying the reasonable costs of the lodging, meals and travel expenses. The hours spent by an employee attending an authorized training session or school on his or her off- duty time, as directed by the Chief, shall be counted as work hours and will be eligible for overtime compensation.
