Midday Routes a. AM/PM routes scheduled for less than twenty-five (25) hours per week may have Midday routes attached as part of a route set. Midday routes not attached to part of a route set will be placed in a Midday route binder as stand-alone routes to be selected by seniority during route selection. Midday routes consist of AM session take home and PM session pickup Early Childhood routes.
Midday Routes. Drivers not receiving a midday assignment may participate in a separate bidding process for midday subbing only. This bidding will be in order of seniority in rotating order. The substitute midday routes will be displayed 24 hours in advance of the bid. The bid will be on Friday of the first full week of school. Times for the substitute bidding will be posted on Monday of the bid week. Drivers may authorize another driver in writing to pick for them. Any midday route which becomes available for a sub assignment after the bidding process is compete will be posted and awarded to the most senior driver eligible to bid on the route. Drivers can only select substitute midday routes which are compatible with their regular assignment and do not result in the driver going into overtime status for the week. Failure to drive a specific sub route five (5) times when requested during the course of the school year can cause the driver to be dropped as the assigned sub for that specific route. The route will then be reposted with that driver not being eligible to bid on the route.
Midday Routes. Midday is defined as any route beginning after 10 a.m. and ending before 12:30 p.m. Each midday route will have a regular driver assigned as a substitute. Regular drivers assigned as substitutes on midday routes are expected to sub when needed. However, if the regular assigned substitute has a pre-assigned field trip, the driver/aide may choose either the field trip or midday. If the driver chooses the pre-assigned field trip over the midday route, they will not receive a strike. Should the driver/aide choose to sub on the midday route and turn down their trip, they will be placed on the make-up list. If the driver/aide is not available to sub when asked, they will need to fill out a refusal slip. After six (6) refusals to sub on a midday route, their name will be removed for the remainder of the school year. Any sub called less than one and one-half (1-1/2) hour before the clock-in time and unable to drive shall not have this counted as a refusal. Any sub on an approved leave shall not have this counted as a refusal.
Midday Routes. These are routes that happen during the regular school day (between the AM & PM Routes) and involve picking up and returning students as described above.
