HOURS OF WORK - (Replaces Article 8. 01(b) second sentence, (c), and (d).) The normal work cycle for operations functioning on "Swing Shifts" as specified in this Appendix "C" shall be twenty-eight (28) calendar days and shall commence on the first Monday in each cycle. The normal workday for employees shall be twelve (12) hours. The normal work week shall alternate between forty-eight (48) hours one week, comprised of four (4) twelve (12) hour shifts in a seven (7) day period and thirty-six (36) hours the next week, comprised of three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts in the next seven (7) day period and vice versa. Management at the plant shall provide the local Union with a Schedule of Working Hours functioning on "Swing Shifts" which shall be in accordance with the above. Should the requirements of the business necessitate a change in such schedule, the matter will be discussed with the Union. The Company agrees to give the Union two (2) weeks advance notice of the implementation, alteration or cessation of "Swing Shifts". This notice shall be provided by 3:00 p.m. on the Thursday, two weeks preceding the implementation, alteration, or cessation of the "Swing Shifts". If such notice is not provided, the affected employee will be paid time and one-half his straight time rate for those hours worked on his first day of the changed schedule, due to the implementation, alteration, or cessation of the "Swing Shifts".
