Normal Workday. For the purposes of determining the application of any employee's regular compensation rate, the employee's normal workday will be eight (8), ten (10) or twelve (12) work hours. The workday of employees regularly scheduled to work greater than eight (8) hours shall be defined under the specific Schedule sections of this Agreement. All defined workdays shall include rest periods as specified in section 7.14 and a thirty (30) minute unpaid scheduled meal period. A Full Time employee shall normally be scheduled to work a full eight (8) hour shift.
Normal Workday. For the purpose of determining the application of any non-exempt staff member’s base compensation rate, a regular non-exempt staff member’s normal workday will be either eight (8), seven and one-half (7-1/2) or seven (7) work hours as determined by the staff members position. This hourly rate will also be used to calculate the compensation of regular part-time staff members. All defined workdays for non-exempt staff members, staff shall include a scheduled meal period as specified in Section 8.15. Regular full-time exempt supervisors are salaried staff members, and as such their compensation is not determined by the number of hours they work in a workday. Exempt staff members are expected to work the necessary hours to complete their work assignments.
Normal Workday. During the school year, the normal workweek for full-time employees will be forty (40) hours Monday through Friday. The workweek for part-time employees will be twenty-five (25) hours Monday through Friday. The normal workweek for full-time employees will be comprised of one of the workday configurations plus stand-by duty assignments. Stand-by duty assignments shall be made on a reverse seniority basis based upon staff availability and the nature of the work. Stand-by duty assignments include but are not limited to, the following examples: Field trips, maintenance runs, in-service activities, drug testing, committee assignments, stand-by, retraining, fueling, pre/post trip inspections, etc. Field trip and stand-by assignments will be made at least five (5) workdays in advance. Evening assignments will be made at least ten (10) workdays in advance. Drivers and attendants given evening assignments will not be given additional noon, field trip, or stand-by assignments between their a.m. / p.m. assignment on the day of that evening assignment. Evening assignments are defined as work that begins after the close of the instructional day. Drivers and attendants who are scheduled noon work will not be given evening assignments. The normal workday will fall under one of the following configurations: An a.m., p.m. route An a.m., noon, p.m. route An a.m., p.m., evening route Each driver and attendant will be paid his/her regular rate of pay, 15 minutes each day for pre/post trip inspections. When a majority of an assignment occurs beyond the normal work day, the driver and attendant shall receive a shift differential as stated in Article VI, Section 3. A request for a change in status from a full-time to part-time must be submitted to the immediate supervisor and will be considered on a seniority basis as positions become available. Requests from part- time to full-time status can be addressed immediately by a supervisor. Drivers and attendants who choose to accept full-time positions will be asked to perform duties that continue to be part of the normal and customary tasks related to the functions of the respective positions. All non-public school runs shall be clearly designated to advise drivers and attendants that these runs are subject to a different calendar than the public school calendar. Normal Workday. A normal workday for a classification shall consist of consecutive hours of work interrupted by a lunch break of not less than one-half (1/2) hour or more than one (1) hour. Under normal conditions, the work schedule of all employees shall include a fifteen- (15) minute rest period during each half shift. Rest periods are paid and therefore no payments will be made for rest periods that are not taken. At the discretion of a department head or designee, an employee may combine breaks with an unpaid lunch break.
