Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School shall implement an educational program focused on a Classical/traditional liberal arts education model; literacy skills built through phonics, grammar, and Latin instruction; content rich curriculum that builds critical cultural literacy in all grades (Core Knowledge in K-8 and a curriculum built on Western tradition in 9-11); and emphasis on civic responsibility and virtue as the focus of culture and thematic analysis.

Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School shall recruit, educate, and graduate students who have not earned a high school diploma using curricula and methodologies that are student friendly, individualized, self-paced, and incorporate a mastery-learning model. To meet the multiple learning needs of at-risk students, the Charter School will employ numerous student-oriented, self-paced curricula. The specific program and curriculum models will be constantly evaluated and changed to ensure that they meet state requirements and are sufficiently flexible to fulfill the needs of the students. The Charter School will operate as an evening school with a year-round schedule, and students will create their own daily, flexible -paced methodology.
Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School serves kindergarten through 12th grade students utilizing an interactive virtual platform. A variety of research based, online and digital curriculum and resources support students and teachers. The educational environment and learning path are structured to meet state standards and rigor expectations yet tailored to meet the individual needs of students. Differentiated experiences are available and reflective of individual student growth and achievement to ensure the success of all students. To extend the innovative virtual nature of the Charter School the district has redefined what level of flexibility in relation to engagement is inherent and what is earned based on clearly defined achievement and engagement expectations.
Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School shall offer a K-12 program utilizing online courses, an educational management system (Connexus) and full-time certified teachers. The Charter School's curriculum will be aligned to the Georgia academic standards. The Charter School will deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous content, primarily online; field trips; clubs and activities all with oversight by a certified teacher. Students will work asynchronously utilizing resources such as iTexts, Teachlets (animated interactive lessons) and other rich online resources. Teachers will engage students individually and in small groups utilizing LiveLesson, allowing synchronous instruction through a web-based meeting tool. Students all have a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) which is reviewed and discussed with the teacher, learning coach (typically the parent) and student on a regular basis. Learning coaches, students and teachers rate lessons to provide feedback for ongoing improvement of lessons.
Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School shall implement Leadership and STEM curriculums that utilize project-based learning, small group instruction and collaboration, blended learning, student-developed online portfolios, and community service learning projects.
Essential or Innovative Features. The Charter School is a non-traditional high school that shall serve an at-risk population and other students that have not been successful at traditional high schools, including but not limited to: returning drop-outs, students that have exhibited behavioral problems in a traditional environment, students rebellious to parental guidance, students who are at-risk of engaging in high risk sexual behaviors and students who are in jeopardy of dropping out of school. The Charter School will use programs such as Additional Educational Services (AES), Supplemental Educational Services (SES), extended day for learning, Saturday School, gender-based classes, the Garden Project, IPOD program and the Summer Institute to meet the demand for academic success. Each student will have an Individualized School Completion Plan (ISCP) developed by the student, parent, teacher, counselor, and administration which will be monitored at each grading period. Saturday school will be a mandatory tutorial opportunity for students at risk for failure. The Charter School will utilize daily tutorial sessions focused on preparation for Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT) and End-Of-Course Tests in each content area. The Charter School will provide a Summer Institute for targeted students as remediation opportunities and/or preview of upcoming curriculum. The Charter School shall not contract for services with an Educational Management Company. The Charter School agrees that their waiver for Teacher Certification shall be limited in application to personnel working toward certification and further acknowledges that non-certified personnel must be highly qualified.
