Ensuring Equality, Safeguarding and Safety. 5.1) Edge Hill University Partners will: • Ensure that, should the trainee be expected to work with machinery, equipment or substances hazardous to health, safety precautions will first have been taken, first aid facilities will be available and training, supervision and protective clothing will be provided. • Will have in force Employers’ and /or Public Liability insurances and ensure that the trainee and/or accompanying teacher is deemed an employee for the purposes of these insurance policies. • Ensure if insurance is not in place (eg exemption permissible under the Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969), they have access to funds to pay for any liability dispute and compensation awarded and accept full responsibility in this regard. • Provide a health and safety induction for the trainee as you would to any member of staff working in your setting ensuring appropriate risk assessments have been carried out. • As part of the trainee’s induction into the setting introduce the setting’s safeguarding policy and approach to The Prevent Duty, in order that the trainee is fully briefed about their responsibilities. Please refer to Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (the CTSA 2015). Bodies to which the duty applies must have regard to statutory guidance issued under section 29 of the CTSA 2015 (“the Prevent duty guidance”). • The school/college/setting will ensure that all trainee teachers are provided with the following at the commencement of their training in each school: o The Safeguarding policy o The Staff Behaviour policy (sometimes called a Code of Conduct) o Information about the role of the designated Safeguarding lead o A copy of Keeping Children Safe in Education (or equivalent). for more information see here: xxxxx://xxx.xxx.xx/government/publications/keeping-children-safe-in- education--2 o Equality and Diversity policy o Health and Safety policy o Special Educational Needs policy • Will inform Edge Hill University should an issue arise under the Prevent Duty, which relates to a trainee. • In respect of School Direct salaried trainees and Further Education and Training in-service trainees, the school, college/setting will ensure that all trainees have been subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) criminal records check, including a check of the children’s barred list and other relevant safeguarding checks, and keep records showing that trainees have obtained these. • Ensure all trainees are aware of their firs...

  • Health and Safety Standards Contractor shall abide by all health and safety standards set forth by the State of California and/or the County of Xxxxxx pursuant to the Injury and Illness Prevention Program. If applicable, Contractor must receive all health and safety information and training from County.

  • Health and Safety Plan 5. Xxxxxx shall prepare and submit under separate cover from the Work Plan, a Health and Safety Plan consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. The Health and Safety Plan shall be submitted to the Department in the form of one electronic copy on compact disk (in .pdf format). Xxxxxx agrees that the Health and Safety Plan is submitted to the Department only for informational purposes. The Department expressly disclaims any liability that may result from implementation of the Health and Safety Plan by Xxxxxx. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

  • Work Health and Safety (a) The employer and employee acknowledge their responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012.

  • Health and Safety Training Regular employees and auxiliary employees in posted positions shall participate in a Health and Safety Training session once in a calendar year. The training program offered by the Employer must be approved by the joint Health and Safety Committee prior to such training commencing. Training will be provided during normal work hours and employees shall suffer no loss of pay or benefits.

  • Contractor Work Hours and Safety Standards Contractor shall ensure compliance with all safety and hourly requirements for employees, in accordance with federal, state, and County safety and health regulations and laws.

  • Health and Safety Requirements The Contractor and his subcontractors ensure at all times compliance with safety regulations imposed by any Act of Parliament, ordinance or any regulation or by¬law of any local or statutory authority. Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act of 1993-Section 37) The Contractor shall comply with:  The Occupational Health and Safety Xxx, 0000, and all Regulations made there under;  All Eskom Safety and Operating Procedures listed in this Works Information. The Contractor acknowledges that it is fully aware of the requirements of all the above and undertakes to employ only people who have been duly authorised in terms thereof and who have received sufficient training to ensure that they can comply therewith. The Contractor undertakes not to do, or not to allow anything to be done which will contravene any of the provisions of the Act, Regulations or Safety and Operating Procedures. The Contractor shall appoint a person who will liaise with the Eskom Safety Officer responsible for the premises relevant to this contract. The person so appointed shall, on request:  Supply the Eskom Safety Officer with copies of minutes of all Health and Safety Committee meetings, whenever he is required to do so;  Supply the Eskom Safety Officer with copies of all appointments in respect of employees employed on this contract, in terms of the Act and Regulations and shall advise the Eskom Safety Officer of any changes thereto. Eskom may, at any stage during the currency of this agreement, be entitled to:  Do safety audits at the Contractor’s premises, its work-places and on its employees;  Refuse any employee, sub-contractor or agent of the Contractor access to its premises if such person has been found to commit any unlawful act or any unsafe working practice or is found to be not authorised or qualified in terms of the Act;

  • Employee Health and Safety A. When the University requires an employee to use or wear health or safety equipment, such equipment will be provided by the University.

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY C8.1 The Contractor shall promptly notify the Authority of any health and safety hazards which may arise in connection with the performance of the Contract. The Authority shall promptly notify the Contractor of any health and safety hazards which may exist or arise at the Authority’s Premises and which may affect the Contractor in the performance of the Contract.

  • WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY The parties to this Agreement are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace and work practices. The parties recognise that illness or injury at the workplace is costly to the employer and the employees and also disruptive to the respective parties. To facilitate healthy and safe work practices, the parties to the Agreement are committed to discussing health and safety issues as they apply to the operations of the employer as part of the consultative measures under this Agreement. The employer and employees under this agreement may refer to their respective industrial representatives for appropriate advice or expertise in enhancing performance with due regard to health and safety initiatives. The parties also recognise the importance of conducting regular audits of the employer's operations, policies and procedures including the employees' skills, knowledge, qualifications and application of healthy and safe work practices.

  • D7 Health and Safety D7.1 The Contractor shall promptly notify the Authority of any health and safety hazards which may arise in connection with the performance of its obligations under the Contract. The Authority shall promptly notify the Contractor of any health and safety hazards which may exist or arise at the Authority’s Premises and which may affect the Contractor in the performance of its obligations under the Contract.
