Emergency Responder Leave. Employees who are volunteer firefighters, auxiliary/reserve police, or a member of a local search and rescue organization, who are deployed on an emergency basis by the appropriate authority, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the duration of said deployment. The employee(s) will be eligible for continued coverage under the benefit plan as per Article 30.02. An employee has the option to use banked time to cover their unpaid leave of absence. In all circumstances the leave will only be granted following the employee’s current shift.
Emergency Responder Leave. An employee serving as a volunteer emergency responder in a declared emergency of up to ten (10) regular business days by the State Governor or President of the United States may not be terminated, demoted or discriminated against in the terms and conditions of employment. The employer may charge regular pay against the employee for the time the employee is absent from employment due to service as an emergency responder.
Emergency Responder Leave. An RN may request leave to work for a recognized emergency response organization for up to fourteen days without pay. An RN may choose to use PTO for this leave. The RN will receive a response to the request for leave within 24 hours of the written request for such leave. Emergency Responder Leave. Employees who are volunteer rescue workers may receive five (5) days on unpaid leave to provide emergency services.
