Education and Vocational Training. The Contractor shall ensure or procure that the following requirements of this Section D are complied with: D1 General The education and vocational training programme set out in each Trainees Training Plan will be a key component of his/her Training / Remand Plan and will be specially tailored to his/her educational needs with a view to bringing him/her up to a level of educational attainment commensurate with his/her abilities, especially in literacy and numeracy. The assessment process will be undertaken by teachers will provide the basis for the educational and vocational training programme set out in his/her Training / Remand Plan by identifying his/her educational skills, ability, attainments and deficits. The Trainees Training / Remand Plan will set out his/her educational goals while in custody at the Secure Training Centre and his/her training programme and other means by which, in discussion with the Trainee, it has been agreed that he/she will achieve these goals. D2 Developmental Education Each Trainee in custody at the Secure Training Centre will be provided with education and training in the following areas with a view to maximising his/her personal and academic potential:
