Development finance cooperation. 1. The Parties recognise that development cooperation is a crucial element of their partnership and an essential factor for the realization of the objectives of this Agreement as laid down in Article 1. Development finance cooperation for regional economic cooperation and integration, as provided for in the Cotonou Agreement, shall be carried out so as to support and promote the efforts of the SADC EPA States to achieve the objectives and to maximise the expected benefits of this Agreement. Areas of cooperation and technical assistance are set out, as appropriate, in Chapter 3 and in the other Chapters of this Agreement. Cooperation shall be implemented according to the modalities provided for in this Article, shall be kept under ongoing review and shall be revised as necessary according to the provisions of Article 108 of this Agreement.

The Parties shall cooperate in order to facilitate the participation of other donors willing to support the efforts of the Central Africa Party to achieve the objectives of this Agreement. 5. The Parties recognise the usefulness of specific regional financing mechanisms which support the implementation of this Agreement, and will support the region's efforts in this direction.

Development finance cooperation. The EU side presented an oral report to the Committee about the outcomes of the 25th meeting of the ACP-EU Development Finance Cooperation (DFC) Committee, which took place in Brussels on 28 April 2010. During the meeting, the Commission gave an overview of the progress as regards implementation of the 10th EDF and presented the progress achieved in the framework of the 10th EDF Mid-Term Review. Moreover, the Commission provided information on the implementation of the V-Flex. The European Investment Bank representative informed the Committee about the 2009 Annual Report on EIB activity, and finally the Committee approved the DFC Programme for 2010-2011. Under AOB, the ACP side requested the Committee to recommend to the ACP-EU Council that power be delegated to the ACP-EU Committee of Ambassadors to adopt a decision increasing Intra-ACP resources. The DFC Committee Chair confirmed that the presentation given by the Commission was in accordance with the letter and the spirit of the meeting. The ACP side took note of the report presented and notified the Committee that a detailed Report would be presented at the ACP-EU Council of Ministers in Ouagadougou.

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.
