Department Chairpersons’ Responsibilities. (a) The Chairperson is “primus inter pares” in an academic department, provides academic and administrative leadership within the Department, represents the Department to other areas of the University, and works to achieve, in cooperation with the Department, Xxxx and other bodies of the University, progress and development in all matters affecting the academic life of the Department, the Faculty and the University. In representing the Department, the Chairperson will put forward the view of the Department.

Department Chairpersons’ Responsibilities. The department chairperson holds faculty rank and status and is a member of the bargaining unit. He/she shall serve as a liaison between faculty and the administration and responsible for the following duties:
Department Chairpersons’ Responsibilities a. The Department Chair shall review the faculty member’s Evaluation Portfolio and complete the Department Chair Faculty Evaluation Report (Appendix B.1 pg. 11) that includes ratings, with a written justification for each rating, of the faculty member’s performances in Teaching Effectiveness/Job Performance (LRD), Scholarly/Professional Activities, and University/Community Service. The Chair shall then complete the Department Faculty Evaluation Summary Form (Appendix B.1, pg 19) for the faculty member that will be based on both the Chair review and ratings, the DEPC review and ratings as indicated in the DEPC Faculty Evaluation Report and faculty review by students. Using the information provided in the Scholarly/Professional Activities Report and the Service Report, the Department Chair shall assign points as indicated in the Evaluation of Professional Activities and Evaluation of Service instruments. The Department Chair shall meet with the Faculty member and discuss his/her evaluation. On or before the fourth Wednesday in April, the Chair shall forward the Department Faculty Evaluation Summary Form, the DEPC Faculty Evaluation Report, and the Department Chair Faculty Evaluation Report for each faculty member to the school Xxxx. The Chair shall also forward a copy of these materials and reports (including the forms) to the faculty member. The faculty member may submit to the Xxxx a rebuttal statement or response in writing and/or request a meeting be held with the Xxxx to discuss any or all of the ratings and recommendations included in the materials submitted by the Chair to the Xxxx as specified above. Such rebuttals, statements, or requests for a meeting with the Xxxx must be made within five (5) working days following the availability of the materials specified above to the faculty member. The materials will be deemed available on the date transmitted to the faculty member, except in extraordinary circumstance.

  • Department Chairpersons The principal shall designate a high school librarian to serve as department chairperson, and such chairperson shall attend all school department chairperson meetings.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary. Inquiries may be made in the following ways:

  • Department Chairperson The department Chairperson has the dual responsibility of leading the department in fulfilling its responsibilities in academic and personnel areas and of facilitating the functioning of the department. The department Chairperson is the normal channel of communications between the department and other departments, division/areas or like groupings, offices and the administration.

  • Association Responsibilities 1. The organization shall keep an adequate itemized record of its financial transactions and shall make available annually to the City Clerk, and to all unit employees, within sixty (60) calendar days after the end of its fiscal year, a detailed written financial report thereof in the form of a balance sheet and an operating statement, certified as to its accuracy by its president and the treasurer or corresponding principal officer, or by a certified public accountant.

  • Faculty Responsibilities The principles of academic freedom shall be accompanied by corresponding principles of Faculty responsibility. While workload and additional Faculty responsibilities may be provided for elsewhere in this Agreement, the following are among the basic responsibilities of the Faculty:

  • County Responsibilities 5.1 The COUNTY shall designate a COUNTY staff member to act as COUNTY’s Project Manager. It is agreed to by the parties that the COUNTY’s Project Manager will decide all questions, difficulties, or disputes, of whatever nature, which may arise relative to the interpretation of the plans, construction, prosecution and fulfillment of the Scope of Services, and as to the character, quality, amount and value of any work done, and materials furnished, under or by reason of this Agreement. The COUNTY’s Project Manager may appoint representatives as desired that will be authorized to inspect all work done and all materials furnished.

  • Agency Responsibilities Agency is responsible for (a) Agency’s use of Axon Devices; (b) breach of this Agreement or violation of applicable law by Agency or an Agency end user; and (c) a dispute between Agency and a third-party over Agency’s use of Axon Devices.

  • Department Chairs The release time required to perform the administrative functions of the Department Chair positions shall be deducted from the total workload of the Department Chair with no less than fifty percent (50%) of this release taken from direct instructional duties.

  • Academic Responsibilities 2.2.1 All academic staff members shall undertake their duties in accordance with the:

  • District Responsibilities With respect to all sums deducted by the District pursuant to authorization of the employee, whether for membership dues or equivalent fees, the District agrees promptly to remit such monies to the Association together with an alphabetical list of unit members for who such deductions have been made, categorizing them as to membership or non-membership in the Association, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished.
