BEREAVEMENT LEAVE – FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES. Full-time Employees shall, in the event of death in their immediate families, as defined herein, be granted up to a maximum of five (5) days with pay, due to absence from their regularly scheduled days of work, up to and including the day of the funeral, and also a subsequent day of interment if it should occur. For the purpose of this Section, “immediate family” means: spouse, child, parent, parent-in-law, brother, sister and grandparent. Employees claiming the foregoing shall provide reasonable written proof of death, and give any supporting proof that the Employer may request upon return from bereavement leave. In the event of the death of any other relative, the Employee shall be granted one (1) day of time off with pay to attend the funeral or other service.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE – FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES. We know the death of a family member is a time when you wish to be with the rest of your family. If you are a full-time employee and you lose a close relative, you will be allowed paid time off of up to 2 days to assist in attending to your obligations and commitments. For the purposes of this policy, a close relative includes a spouse, domestic partner, child, parent or sibling. Paid leave days only may be taken on regularly scheduled, consecutive workdays following the day of death. You must inform your Supervisor prior to commencing bereavement leave. In administering this policy, the Company may require verification of death.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE – FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES. When a death occurs in the immediate family (parent, spouse, child, sibling, step-mother, or step-father) of a full-time employee the employee shall be granted leave up a maximum of five (5) missed shifts in a seven day period without loss of pay. When a death occurs in the family (current parents-in law, grandparents, great grandparents, grandchildren, current siblings-in- law, daughter and son-in-law) of a full- time employee the employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of three (3) consecutive calendar days without loss of pay, ending with the day of the funeral.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE – FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES. 5.4.1 An employee on the death of a wife, husband, father, mother, brother, sister, child or step child, is entitled to leave up to and including the day of the funeral of such relation, and such leave shall be without deduction of pay for the period not exceeding the number of hours worked by an employee in three ordinary days (24 hours). Proof of the death may be required to be furnished to the employer as a condition of approval and payment of the leave.

  • Bereavement Leave (a) Upon the death of an employee's spouse, spouse to include same sex partner, child or stepchild, an employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of five (5) continuous calendar days without loss of pay. One of the days of leave shall include the day of the funeral or equivalent service. Additional days off with or without pay may be granted by the Employer. Part-time employees will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave. In the event of a delayed interment or ceremony for reason of religion or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, an Employee may save one of the days identified above without loss of pay to attend the interment or ceremony.

  • Bereavement Leave of Absence An employee who has a bereavement in their immediate family will be granted up to and including five (5) days absence with pay. Immediate family means spouse, (as defined in Section 2(b) of Appendix 2), parents, and child. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as immediate family. An employee who has a bereavement in their family will be granted up to and including three (3) days absence with pay. Family means brother, sister, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as family.   • Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this clause, immediate family is defined as father, mother (or alternatively stepfather, stepmother or xxxxxx parent), brother, sister, spouse (including common-law spouse resident with the employee), child (including child of common-law spouse), stepchild or xxxx of the employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides.

  • Cyclic Employment Leave Leave without pay will be granted to cyclic year employees during their off season.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.
