Where Layoffs Will Occur. The designated representatives shall prepare a list of the employee(s) affected in each of the categories set out in paragraph two (2) above showing the seniority of each such employee. This list shall be provided to the department or unit and the Union within two (2) working days of the initial meeting referred to in paragraph two (2) above. The department or unit may then issue the appropriate notice(s) of layoff, with a copy to the Union of each such notice. The designated representatives shall as soon as possible also review the qualifications of the employee(s) on the list to determine if there are any positions vacant or currently held by less senior employees in equal and/or lower paying classifications in the department or unit for which the employee(s) is qualified and able to perform competently the work. This determination shall be based on job descriptions for the position(s), the information contained in the employee’s personnel file and interviews with appropriate individuals as determined by the representatives. The designated representatives shall exert reasonable efforts to ascertain any vacancies, current or pending, in an equal or a lower pay grade of the affected employee(s).

  • Layoffs May Occur Once strategies other than layoff have been explored, the institutions may proceed, if need be, to layoffs.   • Reports of unusual occurrence The Contractor shall, during the Maintenance Period, prior to the close of each day, send to the Authority and the Authority’s Engineer, by facsimile or e- mail, a report stating accidents and unusual occurrences on the Project Highway relating to the safety and security of the Users and Project Highway. A monthly summary of such reports shall also be sent within 3 (three) business days of the closing of month. For the purposes of this Clause 15.4, accidents and unusual occurrences on the Project Highway shall include:
