Teaching Hours and Differentiated Workload. A. The Board and the Council agree not to lengthen the students’ school day at any District 65 school or learning center beyond the current student day of the 2011 2012 school year: Six hours and thirty minutes in K-5 schools or seven hours and five minutes in Middle Schools. The teacher’s schedule shall not exceed 1462 classroom pupil contact minutes per week (1490 minutes for Early Childhood unless grant requirement changes make it feasible to go below 1490). Teachers shall report to work twenty (20) minutes before the start of the student day and shall remain at work a sufficient period after the close of the student school day for consultation with parents and students and other professional obligations. The primary purpose of planning time is to plan and prepare for the academic and socio- behavioral needs of the students. Individual Planning Time Activities Teachers may choose from, but are not limited to: preparing materials for lessons, recording and entering student data, reviewing and/or analyzing achievement data and student interventions, preparing, modifying or adapting curriculum and assignments, reflection, grading assessments and student work, reporting or sharing student information or progress, parent communication and preparing for conferences. Team Planning Time Activities Teams may choose from, but are not limited to: planning ways to build a sense of community and belonging among students and families; planning grade level activities and events; monitoring and responding to student progress; meeting with other school personnel to discuss and use problem solving to meet the needs of students; analyzing and reviewing District assessment data to modify future assessment, curriculum instruction and interventions; addressing District and school priorities; sharing strategies for differentiating instruction; developing and discussing cross-curricular strategies to promote student literacy; planning ways to connect students and curriculum to the community; finding curriculum connections and creating interdisciplinary units; planning ways to flex the team schedule to support learning; and discussing an educational journal article or book chapter and the implications for teaching. The Administration can participate in team meetings and add items to the agenda.

For the 2016-2017 school year, the educator’s schedule shall not exceed 1462 classroom pupil contact minutes per week (1490 minutes for Early Childhood unless grant requirement changes make it feasible to go below 1490 and 1680 minutes for Head Start educators unless grant requirement changes make it feasible). Beginning in the 2017- 2018 school year, the educator’s schedule shall not exceed 1450 classroom pupil contact minutes per week (1490 minutes for Early Childhood unless grant requirement changes make it feasible to go below 1490 and 1680 minutes for Head Start educators unless grant requirement changes make it feasible).   • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

  • TEACHING HOURS A. The teacher’s normal teaching hours in the secondary and elementary schools shall be as follows:

  • Flexible Working Hours The Employer will, where operational requirements and efficiency of the service permit, authorize experiments with flexible working hours if the Employer is satisfied that an adequate number of Employees have requested and wish to participate in such an experiment.

  • Workday/Workweek A. The normal workweek for each full-time employee shall be forty (40) hours.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND CLASS LOAD A. Teacher hours of duty shall be: Seven (7) hours and forty-five (45) minutes per day

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term.
