Rehearsals and Performances. Rehearsals will take place during the school day and designated week nights: Singers: Tuesday evenings, 6pm – 9pm Muses: Thursday evenings, 6pm - 9pm Singers men and women may have a shorter additional rehearsal every week (if needed) to ensure their success. A choir calendar will be available on the choir website, XXXXXxxxxx.xxx with rehearsal and performance/competition dates. Additional rehearsals can be called by the Director during the school year. It is the responsibility of the student to make note of the additional rehearsals and be in attendance. Students are expected to bring a list of ALL known conflicts for the year (including sports schedules) to the Director ASAP. There is no excuse for a forgotten conflict and such conflict may or may not be accepted. (NOTE: If a sports schedule is not known yet we will work out the conflicts with the student and coordinator when the schedule is finalized.)

Blocking rehearsals culminating in a complete run-through rehearsal on stage must be completed within fourteen days of the first public performance of each production. Such rehearsals may take place under the supervision of the Assistant Director if there is one or the Stage Manager. If the Artist has been contracted to understudy the part for week or less he/she shall not be required to perform it, but may read it, unless the understudy is also performing, in which case he/she must have had the part at least two weeks before he/she can be required to perform it. The above notwithstanding, an understudy may not be required to perform unless he/she has had at least one rehearsal on the set. The list of understudies must be posted on the company notice board before the end of the first week of rehearsal. The Actor may consent to withdraw from one or more performances for the express purpose of permitting the understudy to perform, but only with the consent of both management and the understudy. In such cases the understudy will receive no additional pay, and the Actor understudied shall not suffer any loss of fee or vacation pay by reason of such withdrawal. Such arrangement must be in writing and signed by both Artists and the Theatre and at least forty-eight hours’ notice will be given to the cast of such a change.
