Paid Leave Overview. 1. At the beginning of the school year, each employee shall be credited with a total of ten (10) days per year for paid leave: six days designated as sick; four days designated as discretionary. Discretionary days are defined as leave that is at the discretion of the employee. A pre-approval form is required for the use of discretionary days and is to be completed three days in advance of the discretionary day unless the leave is due to emergency situations.

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.

  • Paid Leave of Absence Upon request an employee shall be granted a leave of absence with pay for:
