Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. An employee unable to be relieved from work for a meal break shall be allowed to have a meal on duty and this period shall be regarded as working time. Where an employee is not allowed to have a meal on duty as above, an employee unable to take a meal after five hours' duty shall be paid at time half rate in addition to normal salary from the expiry of five hours until the time when a meal can be taken. Except that on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays an employee shall be paid at time half (T1/2) in addition to normal salary. On Call Computer calls: Where the employer requires an employee to log on to the employer’s computer system, having left their place of employment, they shall be paid a minimum of three hours at T2, on the same terms as set out in this clause.
Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. Employees are entitled to a fifteen (15) minute rest break as near to the midpoint of each four hours of work as possible. A thirty (30) minute duty free meal period shall be as near to the middle of the scheduled work shift as possible, but never after the fifth hour of work. A meal period missed at the direction of the employer shall be paid as overtime.
Meal Periods & Rest Breaks. (a) An employee working a shift of four (4) hours shall be given one (1) rest break not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes.

  • Rest Breaks Employees shall receive a fifteen (15) minute break during each four (4) hours worked. It is the Employer's intention to provide uninterrupted rest breaks.

  • Meal Periods (a) Meal periods shall be scheduled as closely as possible to the middle of the workday. The length of the meal period shall be not less than thirty (30) minutes and not more than sixty (60) minutes.

  • Break Periods The parties agree that the paid rest period contemplated by Article 16(e) shall be taken during times that will not interfere with the operation of the Strong Start Centre.

  • Rest Break 6.4.10(a) An employee working overtime must be allowed a rest break of 20 minutes without deduction of pay after each four hours of overtime worked if the employee is to continue work after the rest break.

  • Probationary Periods Employees transferring to a different title will serve a six (6) calendar month probationary period. In the event the probationary period is not satisfactorily completed, the affected employee shall be returned to Job Bank assignment and the employee’s “bumping”, layoff or transfer rights under the Agreement or other applicable authority shall be restored to the same extent such rights existed prior to the employee taking the probationary position. Upon the affected employee’s first such return to the Job Bank, the employee shall be entitled to remain in the Job Bank for the greater of ten (10) business days, or the duration of the applicable Job Bank period, as determined under Article I, paragraph 2, that remained as of the date the employee began in the probationary position. The rate of compensation for the remainder of the employee’s time in the Job Bank will be the same as the rate in effect as of the employee’s last day in the probationary position. Return to the Job Bank terminates the employee’s work in the probationary assignment and, therefore, time served following the return to the Job Bank shall not be construed to count toward the completion of the probationary period.
