Long-Term Substitutes. Long-term substitutes are defined as teachers hired to fill the temporary vacancy of a teacher on leave in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. The employment of long-term substitutes shall automatically expire at the end of the period of substitution or upon return to duty of the teacher from an approved leave of absence without any action by the Board or further notice to the teacher.

Long-Term Substitutes. Long-term substitutes are those who have been employed twenty (20) consecutive days or more in the same position during the current school year. Long-Term Substitutes. Long-term substitutes are defined as substitute Monitors who are placed in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. All long-term substitutes shall receive a written contract of employment. The employment of long-term substitutes shall be for the period specified in his/her contract of employment and shall automatically expire at the end of that term without action by the Board or further notice to the Monitor. Beginning with the 61st day of employment, a long-term substitute will be placed at Step 1 of the Monitors’ hourly wage schedule and, except as otherwise specified herein, shall be entitled to all rights, benefits, duties and obligations of this Contract.
Long-Term Substitutes. 6.10.1 When a long-term substitute is employed under Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.10 for sixty (60) consecutive school days in one specific teaching assignment he/she shall receive all of the privileges for that position, except that personal leave shall be accrued at the rate of one (1) day for every sixty (60) days worked after reaching the BA, Step 0, level.

Long-Term Substitutes. A long-term substitute is one who replaces a regular employee for an extended period of time in excess of sixty (60) days. Such a person will remain as a substitute but will be placed on the first step on the regular salary schedule commencing with the sixty-first (61st) consecutive day of service in the assignment of the regular employee. Upon the return of a regular employee or through an interruption in a long-term substitute's service, a long-term substitute shall revert to a regular status and pay rate, as a short-term substitute unless such interruption is for three (3) days or less and for reasons described in the Sick Leave Policy Rules and Regulations. There shall, however, be no pay for such absence. Except as provided by law, there shall be no contractual relationship explicit or implied in the placement of a long-term substitute on the regular salary schedule while serving in the absence of a regular staff member.
