LEAVES OF ABSENCE, HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. 26.01 Research/Study Leaves Research/study leaves shall be provided by the Employer to enable Members with tenure or continuing appointments to engage in research and to enhance their effectiveness as teachers, scholars and professionals. Such leaves must benefit the University, the individuals on leave, and the academic community in general. Faculty Members who have completed three (3) years in a probationary appointment may, in exceptional circumstances, be granted research/study leave for the purpose of enhancing his/her research program.

LEAVES OF ABSENCE, HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. Leaves leaves shall be provided by the Employer to enable Faculty Members with tenure or Instructor, Coach, Counsellor and Librarian Members with continuing appointments to engage in research and to enhance their effectiveness as teachers, scholars and professionals, Such leaves must benefit the University, the individuals on leave, and the academic community in general. Faculty Members who have completedthree (3) years in a probationary appointment may, in exceptional circumstances, and on approval of the Vice-president (Academic) on the recommendation of the Area Xxxx, or the Vice-President appropriate, be provided the opportunity to apply for a leave for the purpose of enhancing research program. Members shall be eligible to apply for a leave on the basis of accumulated years of service excluding and administrative leaves. Members in either part-time or reduced appointments shall be similarly eligible as though they were working full-time. Except pursuant to Clause which applies to Members in a part-time or reduced appointment, the Employer shall provide the Member on leave with the salary levels Indicatedbelow:

  • HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS If work is performed on Buyer's premises, Buyer shall not be obligated to make any payments to Seller for days designated by Buyer as holidays or shutdown periods, except for work specifically authorized in writing by Xxxxx's Authorized Procurement Representative and performed by Seller on such days.

  • HOLIDAYS AND VACATION Executive shall be eligible for paid holiday and vacation time in accordance with Company policy as in effect from time to time and made available to Company’s senior management employees.

  • STATUTORY HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS If statutory holidays, to which an employee is entitled with pay, occur within his or her vacation period, the employee shall be granted an additional day's vacation for each in lieu thereof.

  • Leaves of Absences 14.01 Written requests for personal leaves of absence without pay for educational or personal reasons will be considered on an individual basis by the nurse’s manager or her designate. Such requests are to be submitted as far in advance as possible with a minimum notice of four (4) weeks except in cases of emergency or if the Employer determines that service needs and staffing requirements can accommodate a leave on shorter notice. A written reply will be given as soon as possible. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. Except in unusual circumstances, a leave of absence other than for educational reasons will not be granted until one year’s continuous service has been completed.

  • ANNUAL LEAVE (VACATION) A. Annual Leave days may be accumulated to a maximum of thirty (30) work days.

  • General Leaves of Absence A. Upon written request from the employee and upon approval of the College President, unpaid leave of absence may be granted to any employee for such things as: (a) illness; (b) family emergency; (c) maternity/paternity; (d) adoption; (e) education; and (f) military leave. The terms of the leave of absence will be confirmed in writing by the College.

  • Personal Leaves of Absence SRD includes the time an employee is on "leave", if the employee is on a: • personal leave of absence with pay; or • personal leave of absence without pay which is less than 15 working days; or • personal leave of absence without pay which is more than 15 working days and which was started on or after April 15, 1993 -- only that portion which was taken during the period from April 15, 1993 to August 31, 1997. • prepaid leave of absence, under the enhanced leaves of absence policy dated April 16, 1993, greater than eight (8) weeks.

  • HOLIDAYS AND LEAVE For the purposes of leave provisions part-time employees working less than full-time or less than five days per week or less than 52 weeks per year receive a pro-rated entitlement.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE Article 11 applies for both paid and unpaid leaves. For the purposes of an unpaid 11.25 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 14.05 hours. For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.
