Holidays for Ten Hour Shifts. Full time staff working on a recognized holiday will receive one and one-half (1½) times the straight time of the hourly rate for each hour worked. Additionally, they will receive ten (10) hours banked holiday in lieu time or by mutual agreement of the employee and the CNE/Department Manager or Designee may be compensated in cash pursuant to Article 7.8. If the employee is observing the holiday as part of his/her four (4) ten (10) hour shifts, the value of the holiday will be ten (10) hours. If an employee is not scheduled to work a holiday as part of his/her four (4) ten (10) hour shifts, the value of the holiday will be ten (10) hours. If they are on paid status less than eighty (80) hours, the value of the holiday will be prorated. Participating staff taking a day off in lieu of an actual holiday or a vacation day will be paid for ten (10) hours from the accrued holiday or vacation time. Floating holidays are defined as having the value of eight (8) hours for full time employees; therefore, employees would need to make up the difference with accrued vacation. Part-time participating staff will receive holidays prorated according to their regular schedule.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Twelve Hour Shifts Employees shall be entitled, subject to exigencies of patient care and/or departmental requirements, to rest periods during the shift of a total of forty-five (45) minutes.

Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • Hour Shift An eight (8) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid one-half (1/2) hour meal period, and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Compensation for Holidays Worked a. With the exception of the provisions in Section C.2.b., below, an employee required to work on a holiday listed above shall be paid at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for the hours actually worked. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.
