Family Related Leaves. Employees meeting the criteria for such leaves will be granted leaves of absences in accordance with the provisions of Part 6 of the Employment Standards Act for Maternity Leave, Parental Leave, Family Responsibility Leave, Compassionate Care Leave, Critical Illness, or Injury Leave, Reservists Leave, Leave Respecting Disappearance of a Child, Leave Respecting the Death of a Child and Leave Respecting Sexual or Domestic Violence. The terms of this agreement, including entitlement to benefits, shall continue to apply during the period of the employee’s leave and shall not affect sick leave entitlement of seniority. On completion of the leave the employee shall be returned to his/her previous job and shifts.

Family Related Leaves. Family related leaves shall be granted in accordance with existing local, state and federal laws governing such leaves. The process for granting a leave of absence will be administered through the Medical Leaves Administration Office.
Family Related Leaves. The Employer shall grant a Nurse use of accumulated credits for up to five (5) days in a year for family-related purposes, at the request of the Nurse. For the purposes of this Article, it is agreed by the parties that any such leave shall accumulate towards the Employer’s obligation to provide similar unpaid leave under the Employment Standards Act. For greater clarity, such leave as identified in this article shall not affect the Nurse’s continuous service date and the Nurse may elect to use accumulated credits or unpaid leave.

  • Family Leave 1. An Appointing Authority shall grant to a full time or part time employee who has completed his/her probationary period, or if there is no such probationary period, has been employed for at least three consecutive months, an unpaid leave of absence for up to twenty-six (26) weeks in conjunction with the birth, adoption or placement of a child as long as the leave concludes within twelve (12) months following the birth or placement.

  • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.

  • Child Rearing Leave 7.9.1 A permanent employee, who is the natural or adoptive parent of a child, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of rearing his/her child for a specified period immediately after convalescence from maternity or immediately after completion of appropriate adoption papers. Such leave shall be for a maximum period of nine (9) months and shall be granted upon giving the District at least four (4) weeks notice prior to the anticipated date on which the leave is to commence.
