Continuous Service Date definition
Continuous Service Date is the first day of employment for all employees hired after the implementation of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ County’s Oracle system on January 1, 1999. The county bases the continuous service date for employees hired before the implementation of the Oracle system on the time of the month in which the employee was hired. In this case, the continuous service date for an employee hired on the first of the month is the employee’s actual hire date. The continuous service date for an employee hired mid-month is the first of the month following the employee’s hire date. Continuous service date is subject to the following adjustments: • adding one month for each calendar month during which the employee was on unpaid leave status for more than ten workdays. • for prior service following reappointment within twelve months of separation under the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ County Personnel Rules. • adding one month for each calendar month during which the employee was off the payroll for more than ten workdays. The Employer will not adjust the continuous service date for employees on unpaid military leave, Workers’ Compensation, or family medical leave. “Continuous service” is county service unbroken by an absence without pay of more than ten workdays in a calendar month.
