Extra-Curricular Trips. A. Extra curricular trips will be assigned from seven (7) availability lists:
Extra-Curricular Trips. Drivers shall be paid $20.00 per trip, plus the per kilometer rate for actual kilometers travelled, plus the minimum wage rate for wait time.
Extra-Curricular Trips. Driving time” will be defined as the time the bus leaves the bus lot until arrival at the destination and from the time the bus leaves from the destination until the bus returns to the bus lot. Extra-Curricular Trips. Driving for extra trips and other extra-curricular trips must be approved by the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of Transportation and Maintenance.

A part-time employee working less than the regular working hours per day or week shall be paid at overtime rates for hours worked beyond the individual employee’s regular or normal working hours identified in Schedule B. Extra-Curricular Trips. Extra curricular trips will be assigned each month using the trip pick process. Additional trips added after the monthly trip pick process will be filled by the Director of Transportation. The procedure shall be printed and distributed to all drivers. Extra Curricular Trips will be paid on the regular pay date. Such driver time shall be calculated to the nearest quarter (.25) hour. Drivers driving an Extra Curricular Trip will receive a minimum of two (2) hours of pay for this trip. Doing an Extra Curricular Trip and missing a portion of the daily Route will not result in loss of regular Route pay. The rate for Extra-Curricular Trips is $15.75 per hour.

Extra-Curricular Trips. Drivers shall be paid for extra-curricular trips based on the actual number of hours required to be in attendance during an extra-curricular activity, at the approved hourly rate for the Division. Actual hours in excess of eight (8) hours in one (1) day shall be paid at one and one-half (1 ½) times the hourly rate. Every effort shall be made to use spare bus drivers for extra-curricular trips, however, should a regular bus driver be required to drive for an extra- curricular trip, they will not be deducted for being absent during their regular trip rate. HOURLY RATE/ When drivers are required to be absent during a normal meal time, a meal allowance will be paid, provided the driver is required to pay for a meal. When an extra-curricular trip is less than three (3) hours, a driver will be paid a minimum of three (3) hours. EXTRA-CURRICULAR: $22.00 per hour as of September 1, 2022

Education AssistantsThis clause includes Education Assistants for single day trips only, who, when requested to participate in either curricular or extra-curricular activities will be paid at straight time for seven (7) hours and any additional hours at over time rates to a maximum of an additional seven (7) hours per day. If an Education Assistant is requested to participate in an overnight curricular or extra-curricular activity, the parties will discuss the matter in advance. Casual Employees‌ Casual employees who work more than eight (8) hours per day or forty (40) hours per week will be paid overtime as per the Employment Standards Act.
Extra-Curricular Trips a) At the start of each new school year, a list will be compiled of all drivers (including spare drivers) wishing to be offered Extra-Curricular/Field Trips. Whenever possible, the transportation supervisor will offer available extra curricular/field trips on a rotational basis, taking into consideration school service area, length of trip and whether or not the bus driver’s regular bus run will be affected. At all times regular bus runs shall receive priority.
