Construction Observer. The responsibilities of the Construction Observer shall include monitoring all aspects of the job, sampling materials for acceptance, conducting tests on embankment and excavation areas, reviewing and analyzing all test results, assuring that work is within specification limits, advising the Contractor’s Superintendent and Project Engineer of nonconformance and possible corrective actions, and measuring quantities for payment. Quality Acceptance Laboratory [As appropriate, clarify which firm is responsible for what QA duties], testing lab duties shall include sampling materials for acceptance and conducting tests on: [embankment, excavation, subbase, base, rip rap, class A45 concrete, pile, PCC]. Construction Observer. The authorized representative of CONSULTANT assigned to assist CONSULTANT at the site during construction. As used herein, the term CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER includes any assistants or field staff of CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER agreed to by OWNER. The duties and responsibilities of the CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER, if any, are as set forth in the “Basic Services” of Attachment A.

Construction Observer. Provide the services of a construction observer during the project who will make periodic visits to observe the contractor’s work on an as needed basis. The on site observer will also be responsible for coordinating with the neighbors. The construction observer will prepare daily reports and coordinate with the contractor, project engineer and County on the progress of the work and to address construction problems so as to maintain the agreed upon schedule. The services of the on-site observer are assumed to be needed for the specified construction period.
