Conferral of days off. The reduction in working hours shall happen without lowering earnings. The hours that have been eliminated from working time shall be accumulated as part of the annual holiday. Days off accrued during the calendar year shall be given to the employee for use no later than the end of September of the following year, unless employer and employee agree otherwise. The days off shall be given on a date designated by the employer. The employer shall strive to notify the employee of when the days off are available to be taken as early as possible and at the latest one week before giving them. The time off shall be given as full days each compensating one shift or working day, or by shortening daily and/or weekly working time in ways to be determined by the employer. Employer and employee can agree on other ways to confer the time off, or on compensating the time off with money. This agreement is to be made in writing. Entry on record: These minutes shall not change the practice with respect to free time from working hours reductions for persons employed under the collective agreement on terms of employment for the cleaning sector whose regular working time as of 31 December 2005 was 40 hours a week and whose practice with respect to free time from working hours reductions was that the employer gave free time in shift-based units. Absences do not cause changes in the compensatory free days for working hour’s reductions that are marked on the work schedule.

  • Unit Weekend Schedule A unit weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Hospital’s need for weekend staff, and individual nurses’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A unit weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time nurse works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at her or his regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25 hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Hospital and the Association. A nurse working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. If the Hospital and the Association agree to a unit weekend schedule, the introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties and recorded in the Appendix of Local Provisions. This unit schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined within the Appendix of Local Provisions. The opportunity for an individual nurse to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties:

  • Resolution of Employee Dismissal or Suspension Disputes The following procedure shall be used for the resolution of disputes relating to the dismissal or suspension of an employee(s):

  • Compensation for Holidays Worked a. With the exception of the provisions in Section C.2.b., below, an employee required to work on a holiday listed above shall be paid at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for the hours actually worked. In addition, an eligible employee shall receive either compensatory time off or holiday pay at the option of the University at the regular straight-time rate, including any shift differential.

  • Overtime Lieu Time Where an employee has worked an accumulated approved overtime hours (other than overtime hours related to paid holidays) such employee shall have the option of electing payment at the applicable overtime rate or time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate (i.e. where the applicable rate I time and one-half, then time off shall be at one and one-half times. Where an employee chooses the latter option, such time off must be taken within the succeeding two pay periods of the occurrence of the overtime at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee, or payment in accordance with the former option shall be made. An employee shall not be required to take time off to avoid payment of overtime.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Days Off 1. When a holiday falls on a full-time employee's regularly scheduled day off, the employee shall receive eight (8) hours of compensatory time.

  • Choice of Vacation Period A. It is agreed to establish a nationwide program for vacation planning for employees in the regular work force with emphasis upon the choice vacation period(s) or variations thereof.

  • Holiday Scheduling Work assignments for holidays shall be prepared in advance of the holiday and when work is available, employees shall be given an opportunity to request to either work or be off. Such requests shall be granted to the extent possible in keeping with the operating needs of the work unit. When all requests cannot be granted within a classification and within a work unit, they shall be granted on a rotating basis so that each employee’s desires will be met as many times as is possible for each year, subject to Paragraph
