Change in Pay Upon Reclassification. When a position is reallocated to a classification with a higher pay range and when the incumbent employee retains the position, employee shall normally be placed at the first step in the new range. If no increase in pay results, advancement may be made to the next step immediately above the present salary. When recommended by the department head and approved by the City Manager, additional advancement may be granted. If no change in salary is granted, the employee may be allowed to carry forward time-in-step accumulation. For the avoidance of doubt, if this Note is converted pursuant to Section 2(b), Holder shall not be entitled to any payment pursuant to this Section 3.
