Calls to Work/Scheduled Overtime. A. An employee who has completed a normal work shift, when ordered back to work, shall be credited with a minimum of four hours' work time provided the call back to work is without having been notified prior to completion of the work shift. When such an employee is called back under these conditions within four hours of the beginning of a previous call or an additional call is received while still working on an earlier call back, the employee shall not receive an additional four hours credit for the new call back. When an employee is called back to work, the employee, with the permission of the appointing authority, or his or her designee when required, will be permitted to leave when the situation(s) that he/she was called in for has been completed. It is not the intent to have the employee perform additional work that represents routine maintenance that can or should be accomplished during the normal workday. When such an employee is called back within four hours of the beginning of the employee's next shift, call back credit shall be received only for the hours remaining before the beginning of the employee's next shift. If an employee is called in within four (4) hours of his/her next shift, the employee will be allowed to work until the end of his/her regular shift.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Project Schedule Construction must begin within 30 days of the date set forth in Appendix A, Page 2, for the start of construction, or this Agreement may become null and void, at the sole discretion of the Director. However, the Recipient may apply to the Director in writing for an extension of the date to initiate construction. The Recipient shall specify the reasons for the delay in the start of construction and provide the Director with a new start of construction date. The Director will review such requests for extensions and may extend the start date, providing that the Project can be completed within a reasonable time frame.

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.
