Building Envelope. An area within which the structures on the farm or ranch are located and within which building can occur. Building envelopes are identified at the time of the baseline documentation, are referred to in the conservation easement deed, and are identified as an appendix to the conservation easement deed. Large farms and ranches may need more than one building envelope to accommodate livestock sheds, equipment sheds, or hay storage structures far from the headquarters building envelope.
