Break in Vesting Service. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Section 2.3, a former Member who incurs a Severance Date, and who is later re-employed by an Employer as an Employee after incurring a Period of Severance equal to the greater of five (5) or the number of Years of Service the former Member had as of his Severance Date, shall not be receive credit for any Vesting Service earned prior to the Member's Re-Employment Commencement Date for purposes of continuing to vest in any benefits earned prior to the Re-Employment Commencement Date or for vesting in any benefits earned after the Re-Employment Commencement Date.
Break in Vesting Service. If the Employer elects in the Adoption Agreement to determine Years of Vesting Service on the basis of an Employee's number of Hours of Service, a Plan Year during which an Employee does not complete at least 501 Hours of Service. If the Employer elects in the Adoption Agreement to determine Years of Vesting Service on the basis of elapsed time, a 12-consecutive month period during which the Employee does not complete at least one Hour of Service, and which begins (a) on the earlier of (1) the day on which the Employee retires, quits or is discharged, or (2) the first anniversary of the day on which the Employee was otherwise first absent from employment, or (b) on any anniversary of such earlier day in clause (a). However, if the Employee has taken a Maternity or Paternity Absence, clause (a)(2) of the preceding sentence shall be applied by substituting the "second anniversary" for the "first anniversary" therein. If selected in the Adoption Agreement, no Breaks in Vesting Service will be considered under the Plan.
Break in Vesting Service. If Years of Vesting Service have been selected in the Adoption Agreement to be determined on the basis of an Employee's number of Hours of Service, a Plan Year during which an Employee does not complete at least 501 Hours of Service (or any lesser number of Hours of Service selected in the Adoption Agreement). If Years of Vesting Service have been selected in the Adoption Agreement to be determined on the basis of an Employee's working for the Employer for a 12 consecutive month period beginning on his or her employment commencement date with the Employer, a 12-consecutive month period commencing on the date of an Employee's interruption of his or her employment with the Employer during which the Employee does not complete at least 1 Hour of Service. If selected in the Adoption Agreement, no Breaks in Service will be considered under the Plan.

  • Break in Service This option may impose a complicated re-entry date for employees who have terminated or whose hours were severely cut back. Option (a) is chosen for administrative convenience.

  • Year of Service VESTING. For purposes of vesting under Section 5.03, Year of Service means any 12-consecutive month period designated in the Employer's Adoption Agreement during which an Employee completes not less than the number of Hours of Service (not exceeding 1,000) specified in the Employer's Adoption Agreement. A Year of Service includes any Year of Service earned prior to the Effective Date of the Plan, except as provided in Section 5.08.
