Between Work Areas or Shifts. If no vacancy has been created (or if a vacancy has been created or a shift opening occurs, and the Appointing Authority determines to fill the vacancy or shift opening without adding another employee) and it is necessary to reassign an employee within thirty-five (35) miles, the Appointing Authority shall request volunteers from among employees in the same class (or option) and same employment condition and work area/or shift from which the reassignment is to be made. If one or more employees volunteer for the reassignment, the most senior qualified volunteer shall be reassigned. If there are no volunteers, the least senior qualified employee in the same class (or option) and same employment condition and work area/or shift from which the reassignment is to be made shall be reassigned. In addition, and upon request, the Appointing Authority shall provide to the Local Union President the name of any employee reassigned pursuant to Section 4B.

If one or more employees volunteer for the change in duty location, the most senior qualified volunteer shall be assigned to the new duty location. If there are no volunteers, the least senior qualified employee in the same class (or option) and same employment condition and work area/or shift from which the change in duty location is to be made shall be assigned to the new duty location.

Related to Between Work Areas or Shifts

  • WORK CLOTHING 1. The State shall continue to furnish foul weather gear and work clothing, such as aprons, smocks, shop coats, lab coats, coveralls and boots to employees furnished such clothing in the past. The State shall be responsible for continuing to provide laundering of work clothing where such service is being provided as of the effective date of this Agreement.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Work The definition of work, for overtime purposes only, includes:

  • NO WORK STOPPAGES 5. It is understood and agreed that during the term of this Agreement neither the Union nor any person covered hereunder shall engage in a strike, slowdown or work stoppage against the City and County of San Francisco, nor shall the Union or any person covered hereunder honor any picket line of any other group of City employees who are obliged under a contractual no strike provision or any provisions of the City Charter to refrain from strikes, slowdowns, or work stoppages against the City and County of San Francisco.

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • PREVAILING WAGE RATES - PUBLIC WORKS AND BUILDING SERVICES CONTRACTS If any portion of work being Bid is subject to the prevailing wage rate provisions of the Labor Law, the following shall apply:

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Building Hours The specific hours at any individual building may vary according to the needs of the educational program of the School District. The specific hours for each building will be designated by the School District.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).
