Sunday work definition

Sunday work. Any work or tour which begins on Sunday.
Sunday work means any work performed where the relevant shift commences on a Sunday and where the major portion of that shift is performed on that Sunday;
Sunday work means any work performed where the relevant shift commences on a Sunday and where at least half of that shift is ordinarily performed on that Sunday.

Examples of Sunday work in a sentence

  • If you are a full-time employed (40 hours a week) and Sunday is part of your regularly scheduled workweek, you are paid at your rate of basic pay plus a Sunday premium of 25% of your basic rate for each hour of Sunday work which is not overtime (i.e. occasional work on Sunday outside the normal tour of duty is considered overtime work).

  • If you are a full-time employed (40 hours a week) and Sunday is part of your regularly scheduled workweek you are paid at your rate of basic pay plus a Sunday premium of 25% of your basic rate for each hour of Sunday work which is not overtime (i.e. occasional work on Sunday outside the normal tour of duty is considered overtime work).

  • No night or Sunday work (without prior written City approval) will be permitted except in the case of an emergency and then only to the extent absolutely necessary.

  • If Saturday and/or Sunday is part of a regular work week as determined by Caltrans, then the Saturday and/or Sunday work shall be treated as work performed on a regular workday and no overtime shall be paid for the first eight (8) hours on Saturday or Sunday.

  • No Saturday or Sunday work shall be allowed without special written permission by the facility representative.

Sunday work. Any time worked on Sunday, as provided in Section 12.01 of this Agreement.

Sunday work. For employees hired before ratification of the 1989 Collective Agreement, all work performed on Sunday shall be paid at straight-time rates plus a premium of one dollar sixty cents ($1.60) per hour (eighty cents [80¢] for each full half hour worked), except that Service Clerks shall receive a premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour (fifty cents [50¢] per half hour). For purposes of the Collective Agreement, Sunday is considered the first (1st) day of the basic workweek and, in the event an employee worked in excess of the basic workweek as set out in Section 5.01, the last such day or days worked in such weeks shall be considered as the day or days for which overtime applies.
