Local Union President. 10:01 The Employer agrees that there also shall be one Union President for Local 3261, elected or appointed from any of the bargaining units represented by Local 3261. Local Union President. The Employer agrees that there also shall be one (1) Union President for Local who will be elected or appointed from within either the full-time or part-time bargaining units at the University of Toronto or University of Toronto Press. The Union will notify the Employer in writing of the appointment of the Local Union President.
Local Union President and National Union representatives will not enter the premises of the Employer without obtaining the prior consent of the Employer, and which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Local Union President. (a) The Company and the Union agree that the employee holding the office of President of the Local union shall be granted paid time off on the basis of two (2) days, sixteen (16) hours each month, at his regular hourly rate, to enable him to attend to matters related to the administration of this Agreement and his duties as President. The employee holding the office of President, shall also be paid a premium equivalent to 1.5% of his regular hourly rate, for all hours paid for each week, to a maximum of forty (40) hours.
Local Union President. The Local Union President is eligible for the benefits listed in this section. Time Off For Union Activities: With prior approval of the Village, an employee who becomes the Local President may be granted time off without pay for the purpose of attending to any Union representation activity. The maximum amount of time that can be taken off under this provision is one hundred fifty (150) working days per fiscal year. The Local President is not permitted to take an extra thirty (30) working days off without pay under Section 3. The Local President will be permitted to accrue sick and vacation leave during the first sixty (60) days that he/she takes time off pursuant to this provision in each fiscal year. After the Local President has taken sixty (60) days of leave under this provision, he/she will only accrue sick and vacation leave during the remainder of the fiscal year in those pay periods where the Local President has been in paid status (either working days or on paid sick or vacation leave) for at least 40 hours of the pay period. Resignation Upon a Village employee becoming Local President, he/she may elect to resign his/her position with the Village. If and when the President elects to resign his/her position with the Village, he/she must give a notice of at least two (2) weeks. If The Local President who intends to resign gives the required notice, he/she will be allowed to continue those insurance benefits available to bargaining unit employees, subject to the following: The Village will not incur any cost associated with allowing the Local President to continue insurance coverage after his/her resignation. The Local President and/or the Union will be responsible to pay the full cost that would normally be paid by the Village. For Life Insurance purposes, the insurance offered will be one and one half times the salary of the Local President that was in effect at the time of his resignation. The Village’s agreement to allow the Local President to continue insurance coverage is contingent on the availability of such coverage from the Village’s group insurance providers. The parties acknowledge that some group plan insurance providers may not allow an employee who resigns his/her employment with the Village to remain covered, or may limit the time period for which coverage is available, or impose other restrictions. Local Union President. The Company agrees to the establishment of a full-time local Union President based on the following procedure: The individual will be placed on indefinite Union leave. The individual shall return from leave to his/ her regular posted job, provided the position exists, at the end of his/ her term or after thirtv (30) days notice. If ave been established un 16 and a job placement has occurred, his/ her return from leave rig hts will be established to the new job placement. Any training or familiarization periods or other restrictions that are required under Article 16 will apply once the Local Union President actually returns to his/ her job and actively begins work on that job.
