Alternate Bargaining Unit Chairperson. Alternate shall function only in the absence of the bargaining unit Chairperson. Each party to this collective agreement shall keep the other party informed of its representatives. Stewards may, within reason, investigate and process grievances during regular working hours without loss of pay. Stewards will obtain permission from the Employer's designated representative before leaving their immediate work area. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld. On resuming normal duties, the xxxxxxx shall notify his/her supervisor. It will not be the intention of the Union to conduct stewards' meetings during normal working hours. Bulletin Boards A bulletin board shall be supplied out of view of the public in each branch. The Union will be allowed to post notices approved by the branch xxxxxxx on the bulletin board provided they are not of a derogatory nature to the Employer. A union member shall have the right to wear a jewellery type and size pin displaying the recognized insignia of the Union. The Union agrees to furnish to the Employer at least one small union shop card or decal to be displayed on the premises. Such card or decal will remain the property of the Union and shall be surrendered upon demand. Strikes/Lockouts The Employer shall not cause or direct any lockout of employees during the life of this agreement; and neither the Union nor any representative thereof, nor any employee, shall in any way authorize, encourage or participate in any strike, walkout, suspension of work, or slow-down on the part of any employee or group of employees during the life of this agreement.

  • Union Bargaining Committee A Union Bargaining Committee shall be appointed by the Union and shall consist of up to three (3) members of the Union together with the President of the Union or her designate. The Union shall have the right at any time to have the assistance of members of the staff of the Union when negotiating with the Employer.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority The length of continuous service in a position or succession of positions within Bargaining Unit Two (2), beginning with the last date of hire or transfer into the Bargaining Unit, as defined by seniority credits.

  • Bargaining Unit Roster Upon the signing of this Agreement and monthly thereafter, the Employer shall supply to the Union via a secured method an alphabetical list of all employees covered by this Agreement. The list shall include the name, address, employee identification number, date of hire, rehire date (if applicable), shift, FTE, job classification, department cost center number, unit, hourly rate of pay and monthly gross earnings. Each month, the Employer will provide a list of new hires and addresses, and a list of all employees who have terminated during the month via a secured method. The new hire and termination lists shall include the same data as the monthly employee roster except for monthly gross earnings. The termination list shall include the termination date. Within ninety (90) days of ratification, Swedish Medical Center and SEIU 1199NW will convene a work group including HRIS expert to explore a method for the Employer to provide a list of all employment changes for bargaining unit employees, via a secure site.

  • Local Bargaining Committee The Hospital agrees to recognize a negotiating committee comprised of hospital employee representatives of the Union for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement (as set out in the Local Provisions Appendix). The Hospital agrees to pay members of the negotiating committee for straight time wages lost from their regularly scheduled working hours spent in direct negotiations for a renewal agreement, up to but not including arbitration. Nothing in this provision is intended to preclude the Union negotiating committee from having the assistance of any representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when negotiating with the Hospital.

  • Function of Bargaining Committee All matters pertaining to performance of work, operational problems, rates of pay, hours of work, collective bargaining, and other working conditions, shall be referred by the Union bargaining committee to the Employer for discussion and settlement.

  • Central Bargaining Committee (a) In central bargaining between the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the participating hospitals, an employee serving on the Union's Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee in direct negotiations up to the point of arbitration. In addition, an employee serving on the Union’s Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for two (2) days of preparation time for such central negotiating meetings with the Hospital’s Central negotiating Committee. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. It is understood and agreed that the maximum number of Union Central Negotiating Committee members entitled to payment under this provision shall be eight (8), and in no case will more than one employee from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Union shall advise the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee, before negotiations commence, of those employees to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee shall advise the eight (8) Hospitals accordingly.

  • Chair The Chair of the Union/Management Committee shall alternate between an Employer representative and a representative of the Union.

  • Union Grievance Committee (a) The Employer shall recognize a Union Grievance Committee which consists of:

  • Chairperson The Chairperson will supervise and control the affairs of the Committee and shall exercise such supervisory powers as may be given him/her by the Members of the Committee. The Chairperson will perform all duties incident to such office and such other duties as may be provided in these bylaws or as may be prescribed from time to time by the Committee. The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings and shall exercise parliamentary control in accordance with Xxxxxx’s Rules of Order.
