Republic of Ireland transmission system means the system of electric lines in the Republic of Ireland comprising wholly or mainly the Republic of Ireland Board’s high voltage lines and electric plant and which is used for conveying electricity from a generating station to a substation, from one generating station to another, from one substation to another or to or from any [interconnector] or to final customers (but shall not include any such lines which the Republic of Ireland Board may, with the approval of the Commission for Electricity Regulation, specify as being part of the Republic of Ireland Board’s distribution system), and shall include any Republic of Ireland Interconnector owned by the Republic of Ireland Board.
