Transmission System Operator Business definition

Transmission System Operator Business means the business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in the operation of the transmission system, or in the procurement of System Support Services (whether or not pursuant to directions of the Department made under Article 37 or 38 of the Order), or in the co-ordination and direction of the flow of electricity onto and over the transmission system, or in the undertaking of its obligations under the Licence in respect of Northern Ireland Interconnectors, or in the undertaking of electricity trades with the operators of systems other than the transmission system as permitted by the Single Electricity Market Trading and Settlement Code, including any business in offering to enter into, and entering into, Connection Agreements and Use of System Agreements, but shall not include:
Transmission System Operator Business means the business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in the planning and operation of the transmission system, or in the operation of the Capacity Market, or in the procurement of System Support Services (whether or not pursuant to directions of the Department made under Article 37 or 38 of the Order), or in the co-ordination and direction of the flow of electricity onto and over the transmission system, or in the operation of the Balancing Market or in the undertaking of its obligations under the Licence in respect of Northern Ireland Interconnectors, or in the undertaking of electricity trades with the operators of systems other than the transmission system as approved by the Authority, including any business in offering to enter into, and entering into, Connection Agreements and Use of System Agreements, but shall not include:(a) any business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in undertaking Market Operation Activity or the NEMO Activity; or(b) any business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in undertaking the Transmission Owner Business; or(c) any business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in undertaking the Distribution Business; or(d) any other business of the Licensee (or any affiliate or related undertaking) in the provision of services to or on behalf of one or more persons.“ultimate controller”means:
Transmission System Operator Business means the business of the Transmission System Operator consisting of the operation of the transmission system as authorised by its licence under Section 16(1)(c) of the Act; "Transmission System Owner" means the Licensee; “Transmission System Owner Business” means the business of the Transmission System Owner consisting of the ownership of the transmission system as authorised by this licence and includes its functions as such under the Regulations and the Operating Agreement; and “Transmission System Standards” means the document of that name required to be prepared by the Transmission System Operator inaccordance with its Licence.

  • Except with the prior written consent of the Authority and in accordance with any conditions of that consent, the Licensee shall not purchase or otherwise acquire electricity for the purpose of sale or other disposition to third parties on the Island of Ireland, save to the extent it is necessary to do so in undertaking the Transmission System Operator Business.

  • In respect of the Transmission System Operator Business, the first financial year of the Licensee shall run from SEM Go-Live to 30 September 2008 and thereafter each financial year of the Licensee shall run from 1 October to the following 30 September.

  • For the purposes of paragraph 1 the Licensee’s obligation to comply with the Priority Dispatch Principles is an obligation to comply with the provisions of the Priority Dispatch Principles in so far as they are applicable to the activities undertaken by the Transmission System Operator Business.

  • The Licensee shall procure that the Transmission System Operator Business gives no cross-subsidy to, and receives no cross-subsidy from, any other business of the Licensee or of any affiliate or related undertaking of the Licensee.

  • Non-Discrimination 1 In undertaking the Transmission System Operator Business, the Licensee shall not unduly discriminate as between any persons or class or classes of persons (including itself in undertaking any activity other than the Transmission System Operator Business).Condition 16.

  • The Licensee shall procure that the Transmission System Operator Business shall not give any subsidy or cross-subsidy (direct or indirect) to any Separate Business of the Licensee and/or any affiliate or related undertaking of the Licensee.

  • The Licensee shall ensure that when any member of staff is to be transferred between the Transmission System Operator Business and any Associated Business or vice versa and an unfair commercial advantage could accrue to either or both businesses, the Licensee shall inform the Authority of the proposed transfer(s) and shall make the Authority aware of the steps being taken to ensure that no such unfair commercial advantage will accrue to either business.

  • Non-Discrimination 1 In undertaking the Transmission System Operator Business, the Licensee shall not unduly discriminate as between any persons or class or classes of persons (including itself in undertaking any activity other than the Transmission System Operator Business).

  • Regulated Business means the Distribution Business, the GenerationBusiness, the Power Procurement Business, the NIE Supply Business, the Transmission Owner Business or the Transmission System Operator Business.

  • Transmission System Operator means a natural or legal person responsible for operating, ensuring the maintenance of and, if necessary, developing the transmission system in a given area and, where applicable, its interconnections with other systems, and for ensuring the long-term ability of the system to meet reasonable demands for the transmission of electricity;

  • multi-system operator or “MSO” means a cable operator who has been granted registration under rule 11 of the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994 and who receives a programming service from a broadcaster and re-transmits the same or transmits his own programming service for simultaneous reception either by multiple subscribers directly or through one or more local cable operators;

  • Intra-State Transmission System means any system for transmission of electricity other than an Inter-State Transmission System;

  • Interconnection Service(s means any Interconnection, Resale Services, 251(c)(3) UNEs, Collocation, functions, facilities, products or services offered under this Agreement.

  • Electric generation service means the provision of retail

  • Telecommunications Business means the business of (i) transmitting, or providing services relating to the transmission of, voice, video or data through owned or leased transmission facilities, (ii) creating, developing or marketing communications related network equipment, software and other devices for use in a Telecommunications Business or (iii) evaluating, participating or pursuing any other activity or opportunity that is primarily related to those identified in (i) or (ii) above; provided that the determination of what constitutes a Telecommunications Business shall be made in good faith by the Board of Directors of the Guarantor.

  • Interconnection Service means the physical and electrical interconnection of the Customer Facility with the Transmission System pursuant to the terms of Tariff, Part IV and Tariff, Part VI and the Interconnection Service Agreement entered into pursuant thereto by Interconnection Customer, the Interconnected Transmission Owner and Transmission Provider. Interconnection Service Agreement:

  • Base Load Generation Resource means a Generation Capacity Resource that operates at least 90 percent of the hours that it is available to operate, as determined by the Office of the Interconnection in accordance with the PJM Manuals.

  • Generation Service means the sale of electricity, including ancillary services such as the provision of reserves, to a Customer by a Competitive Supplier.

  • Network Transmission Service means transmission service provided pursuant to the rates, terms and conditions set forth in Tariff, Part III, or transmission service comparable to such service that is provided to a Load Serving Entity that is also a Transmission Owner.

  • food business operator means the natural or legal persons responsible for ensuring that the requirements of food law are met within the food business under their control;

  • Transmission Interconnection Customer means an entity that submits an Interconnection Request to interconnect or add Merchant Transmission Facilities to the Transmission System or to increase the capacity of Merchant Transmission Facilities interconnected with the Transmission System in the PJM Region or an entity that submits an Upgrade Request for Merchant Network Upgrades (including accelerating the construction of any transmission enhancement or expansion, other than Merchant Transmission Facilities, that is included in the Regional Transmission Expansion Plan prepared pursuant to Operating Agreement, Schedule 6).

  • Interregional Transmission Project means transmission facilities that would be located within two or more neighboring transmission planning regions and are determined by each of those regions to be a more efficient or cost effective solution to regional transmission needs.

  • Interconnection Customer means a Generation Interconnection Customer and/or a Transmission Interconnection Customer.
