VPH Online dissemination. The International VPH Gateway comprises a set of activities designed to facilitate interaction and cooperation of the VPH XxX with related initiatives, not only within Europe, but also worldwide. These activities will focus essentially on liaising with related national and European initiatives and working groups in the VPH field, with the objective to convene meetings to gather and harmonize on-going research activities. This activity will also be in charge of outreach to researchers beyond Europe, in order to attract and launch discussions and cooperation with international initiatives on VPH worldwide. Such a federating activity is essential to reach optimal visibility and to gather a xxxxxxxx xxxx of expertise both within and outside the VPH XxX to stimulate further initiatives and cooperation (described further in section B3.2). VPH Web site The public VPH website will be an essential communication mechanism, both internally and externally to the VPH XxX. In order to actively support VPH XxX activities, it will be implemented around the following three core priorities: 1 - Integration of the VPH research community 2 - Dissemination towards the VPH research community worldwide 3 - Promotion of VPH activities to the international stakeholders in the field To this end, the web site will be designed in cooperation with all the different VPH actors, in order to ensure that it matches with the user’s expectations, supports efficient dissemination, and that it is a key enabler of the research community integration. In order to achieve immediate internet accessibility and exposure at the outset of the project, the web site will be implemented in the earliest stages of the project (PM1-2) and be improved as the project unfolds. In particular, the VPH web site will also integrate a direct pointer to existing initiatives and have a dedicated section liaising with the EuroPhysiome site (xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx and the associated BioMed Town wiki facility), which benefits from a large membership and – by virtue of being the product of the STEP Coordination Action (FP6 CA-2004-#027642) - has established links to other physiome initiatives. This will enable the VPH XxX website to act as a gateway to VPH-related online information and resources, creating a federated VPH web presence.
