Unpaid Union Leave of. Absence Upon request by the Union, an employee may be granted a leave of absence without pay to perform full-time official duties on behalf of the Union. Such leave of absence shall be for a period of up to one year and may be extended for one additional period of one year or less at the request of the Union. Such requests for leave and extensions thereof will be submitted by the Union to the Director of Human Resources in writing at least 30 days prior to the commencement date of said leave. Advance approval of the Director of Human Resources is required for all such leaves of absence or the extension thereof.
