UEA-University of East Anglia. The University of East Anglia (UEA) is committed to excellence in both teaching and research. Interdisciplinarity has been a key aspect of the University since its foundation. The School of Computing Sciences has a vibrant research culture that combines expertise in computer science, engineering, business and related subjects to create new ways of making information technology useful to society. The School is actively engaged in international quality research for government, industry and other organisations. Research relating to the Dicta-Sign project includes the work of the Virtual Humans group. In addition, the School carries out research in image and speech, using active shape and appearance models to model facial movements and synthesise visual speech. New projects are under way to develop computer-based lip-reading systems. Working with the BBC and the Image group in the School, research was undertaken into robust motion capture of a signer’s body and face for broadcast applications by rendering natural motion using avatars. The Virtual Humans group (xxxx://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx.xx/research/vh) has created groundbreaking technology for animation of deaf sign language using virtual humans. An early project “Xxxxx the Signer” won two Royal Television Society awards for a system generating sign language from subtitles. Later work in collaboration with colleagues in the EU Framework V project ViSiCAST developed the “TESSA” system which won the BCS Gold Medal and IT Award in 2000. In the eContent project eSIGN, the technology was used on eGovernment websites in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, and has been applied recently to the creation of BBC JAM online educational materials for deaf children in the UK to promote literacy in English and in British Sign Language. These materials are expected to become available, with widespread publicity, in the coming months. Current research projects use virtual human signing to provide support for deaf candidates for online IT skills tests, and in LinguaSign, a Socrates Lingua 2 project, to enhance materials for foreign language learning in primary schools. Within the EPOCH Network of Excellence UEA led work on avatars and virtual humans to introduce expressive multilingual virtual characters into cultural heritage models where gestures and speech for a virtual guide are generated interactively in response to questions from visitors. Penggunaan tanah masyarakat adat Xxxx Xxxx untuk keperluan usaha perkebunan PT. Era Sakti Wiraforestama bukanlah terjadi dengan sendirinya xxx penguasaan semena-mena, melainkan diawali dengan suatu perjanjian kepada xxxxx masyarakat pemilik tanah tersebut. Perjanjian yang diadakan antara PT. Era Sakti Wiraforestama dengan masyarakat adat Xxxx Xxxx adalah perjanjian penggunaan tanah untuk keperluan usaha, yang dituangkan dalam surat perjanjian. Dalam perjanjian yang diadakan, ditentukan xxx xxx kewajiban masing-masing pihak, umumnya hak dari pihak PT. Dikarenakan penggunaan tanah untuk usaha perkebunan memakan waktu yang cukup lama, maka banyak terjadi perubahan- perubahan dalam pelaksanaan perjanjian yang kadangkala tidak diketahui oleh pihak xxxxx masyarakat, sehingga merugikan xxxxx masyarakat itu sendiri. Dengan terjadinya perubahan-perubahan dalam pelaksanaan perjanjian tanpa diketahui oleh pihak xxxxx masyarakat adat Xxxx Xxxx, timbulah berbagai permasalahan berupa :
