The employee retires. 4. The Employee is on layoff for one (1) year or the length of his/her seniority whichever is greater but not to exceed two (2) years.

Seniority shall continue to accumulate within the bargaining unit for an employee who transfers to a supervisory position, with that employee having the right to exercise their seniority and return to the bargaining unit in the event that the employee vacates their supervisory position.
