Sick Leave Used for Care of Immediate Family. An employee may use half (1/2) of his/her annual accrued sick leave in order that he/she may care for a sick or injured member of his/her immediate family requiring his/her care, or in order that he/she may obtain medical consultation to preserve his/her health. "Immediate family" shall mean the father, mother, grandmother, grandfather of the employee or of the spouse or domestic partner of the employee and the spouse, domestic partner, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, brother or sister of the employee or any person living in the immediate household of the employee.

Sick Leave Used for Care of Immediate Family. An employee who has acquired a sufficient right to sick leave with pay may be granted permission to use the same, not to exceed ten (10) working days of such leave, in order that he/she may care for a sick or injured member of his/her immediate family requiring his/her care, or in order that he/she may obtain medical consultation to preserve his/her health. "Immediate family" shall mean the mother, father, grandmother, grandfather of the employee, or of the spouse of the employee or of the Registered Domestic Partner of the employee as defined in Article 7; and the spouse or Registered Domestic Partner as defined in Article 7, son, son-in- law, daughter, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, xxxxxxxxxx, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law of the employee; or any person living in the immediate household of the employee.

  • Sick Leave Abuse When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation.
