Self-Determination. Provision of the opportunity for an Enrollee to exercise choice and control in identifying, accessing, and managing supports and services in accordance with his or her needs and personal preferences. Arrangements that support Self- Determination means that the Enrollee has the authority to exercise decision making over LTSS and accepts the responsibility for taking a direct role in managing them. Arrangements that support Self-Determination are an alternative to provider management of services wherein a service provider has the responsibility for managing all aspects of service delivery in accordance with the service plan developed through the Person-Centered Planning Process. Self-Determination promotes personal choice and control over the delivery of LTSS, including who provides services, how they are delivered, and hiring and firing personal attendants and/or home care workers.

Self-Determination. Except as expressly set forth in this Agreement, each Party and its Affiliates may set and determine the manner in which it will promote, market, and advertise the Combined Offering and the prices that it charges therefor.
Self-Determination. It is the expectation that PIHPs will assure compliance among their network of service providers with the elements of this policy. This will mean that the PIHP will assure, when arrangements that support the pursuit of self-determination are sought by adult consumers (self determination is an option for adult consumers); no consumer is mandated to use self determination approaches), developed and offered, by the PIHP, that they conform to the elements of the policy and practice guideline. The implementation expectations for this policy are aimed at fostering continual learning and improvement in the implementation of the self determination elements Reviews of PIHP performance, in the area of Self Determination, will emphasize continuous quality improvement approaches applying teaching, coaching, mutual learning, and exploring best practice rather than a static compliance approach. It is the mutual understanding of the parties that the requirement for implementation of arrangements that entail use of a fiscal intermediary to support direct employment or contracting by consumers of preferred, qualified providers, may be delayed until 90 days following the issuance of revised technical advisory on the use of the Choice Voucher System, and best practice standards for PIHP/Provider fiscal intermediary arrangements. This revised technical advisory and best practice standards will be developed by MDCH, in concert with consumers, consumer advocates, and members of the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards (chosen by the Association). The PIHP must offer a range of financial management service options, including the fiscal intermediary, when these options support the principles, concepts and key elements of self determination
Self-Determination. 2.6.3.1. The ICO will offer Enrollees the opportunity to use arrangements that support Self-Determination for LTSS including the personal care benefit and appropriate waiver services.

Self-Determination. All my service providers and informal support people will help me to make my own decisions. I have fundamental rights to make those decisions which affect how life unfolds daily. All service providers will offer encouragement, support and adequate opportunities in the process. My decision-making rights include but are not limited to: employment, education, personal goals, friends, the use of community amenities, leisure pursuits, the type of service being provided by the service provider and the manner in which the service is being provided. This includes choice in the people (paid and unpaid, formal and informal) who provide personal support, a role in describing job expectations, scheduling, supervising and evaluating staff.
Self-Determination. Principle Description Aboriginal-led Community is the lead voice for Closing the Gap, with each ACCO sector and Aboriginal Governance Forum representative in the Ngaweeyan Maar- oo being an Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander person. Delegates will be chosen by the relevant organisation or Forum, free from influence from government.
