Scholarly Teaching Fellow. A Scholarly Teaching Fellow will principally undertake: Teaching Delivery and Teaching-related Duties and their salary will be as per Table 2 of Schedule 1 of the Agreement, and Work that would otherwise have been performed in the University by a Casual Academic Staff Member No later than six months prior to the end of a STF’s third year of a Continuing Appointment an evaluation process will be undertaken with the Head of School to identify the career path for the STF to either a teaching and research academic role, a teaching academic role or to progress the STF career path. The evaluation process will include a discussion of opportunities for promotion of the STF to a Level B appointment if a teaching academic or teaching and research academic role is identified. Scholarly Teaching Fellow. The University shall use its best endeavours to employ eight (8) Scholarly Teaching Fellows (STF) over the nominal life of this Agreement. The intent of these roles is to reduce the amount of casual teaching undertaken and/or to attract potential PhD students or persons who have recently completed a PhD. STFs can be employed in the following circumstances:
Scholarly Teaching Fellow. (STF) Appointment to an STF position will be on the basis of merit. Where an STF appointment is to be on the basis of competitive merit, an Academic Staff Member, nominated by the Unions and employed in the Faculty where the vacancy is located, will be invited to be on any selection panel for STF appointments. An STF position may be filled by a Continuing Appointment or a Fixed Term Appointment subject to Clause 15.2, Use of Fixed Term Appointments. An STF will be allocated up to a maximum of 75% of available work hours for teaching and Teaching-related Duties, with a maximum of 550 hours of Teaching Delivery a year. An STF will normally have a maximum of 36 weeks Teaching Delivery per year. However, this may be varied due to alternative teaching arrangements, clinical teaching, practicums and fieldwork. The Workload allocation will provide for a 10 week Teaching Delivery-free period as included in annual work planning (and this should preferably be in a single block or blocks of weeks subject to the core teaching program commitments of each Staff Member). An STF will be allocated a minimum of 25% of available work hours for other academic activities. A STF will principally undertake work that would otherwise have been performed in the University by a Casual Academic Staff Member. It is not the intention of the University to engage a STF to perform work previously performed by persons in receipt of an employment termination payment. A STF will be appointed at STF Step 1 and will progress annually through incremental steps over a five year period to STF Step 5, in accordance with Table 2 of Schedule 1, Staff Salaries. No later than six months prior to the end of a STF’s third year of Continuing Appointment an evaluation process will be undertaken with the Head of School to identify the career path for the STF to either a teaching and research role, a teaching focussed role or to progress the STF career path. The evaluation process will include a discussion of opportunities for promotion of the STF to a Level B appointment if a teaching focussed or teaching and research role is identified.   • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

  • Developer Compensation for Emergency Services If, during an Emergency State, the Developer provides services at the request or direction of the NYISO or Connecting Transmission Owner, the Developer will be compensated for such services in accordance with the NYISO Services Tariff.

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • Reporting Total Compensation of Recipient Executives 1. Applicability and what to report. You must report total compensation for each of your five most highly compensated executives for the preceding completed fiscal year, if—

  • TEACHING AND LEARNING This component captures institutional strengths in program delivery methods that expand learning options for students, and improve their learning experience and career preparedness. This may include, but is not limited to, experiential learning, online learning, entrepreneurial learning, work integrated learning, and international exchange opportunities.

  • Team Teaching Unit members participating in team teaching assignments will receive formula hour credit in proportion to the percentage of in-class involvement. When team-taught class sizes exceed the normal, the formula conditions specified in Section 4.3.3 shall apply.

  • TEACHER TEACHING ON CALL PAY AND BENEFITS 1. The employer will ensure compliance with vacation provisions under the Employment Standards Act in respect of the payment of vacation pay.

  • Teaching Assistants 1. All Teaching Assistants shall receive the same remuneration per base unit and the difference between the amount paid a Graduate Teaching Assistant and other Teaching Assistants is an associated scholarship. See XIII D. for appropriate compensation.
