Career Path. The Employer and the Union shall establish a labor-management working group within 90 days of the effective date of this Agreement for the purpose of developing enhanced career paths for Federation staff.
Career Path. Because the rates of remuneration prescribed by this Agreement are based on skills and knowledge possessed and prepared to use, employees may be allocated any task for which they have been trained and assessed as being competent to perform.
Career Path. The Career Path applies to permanent Store employees and will be as follows:
Career Path. All employees will be encouraged and assisted to progress to the highest level personally attainable consistent with the needs of the workplace. When a new employee enters at a high level because of particular skills requirements they must familiarise themselves with the skills required at a lower level within 12 months to ensure maximum flexibility.
Career Path. The company agrees in principle to provide a career path and associated training for its employees. Courses must be company related, approved in advance, and relevant to current position or career path. Courses should be accredited and reflect national standards whenever practicable.
Career Path. All positions that become available at the Rocklea 2 Piece plant will be advertised in house, before they are advertised externally.
Career Path. The career path for the fire department shall be: Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer, Fire Captain, Shift Fire Captain, Battalion Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, and Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall determine the job qualifications and duties for the positions within the career path, with the exception of the Fire Chief position, according to the management rights provisions of this MOU. To the extent that a change in the job qualifications and duties implicates negotiable matters, the City will negotiate said changes with the Association, as required by law. Nothing in the career path shall be construed as requiring the CITY to promote or hire any employee, or as precluding any lawful method for the selection of employees. The City’s salary schedule shall maintain a minimum of 5% separation between the Firefighter/Paramedic classification and the Engineer classification. SBFA acknowledges that the CITY intends to retain a compensation differential of 2% between the Fire Captain and Shift Fire Captain ranges, and to base salary comparisons on the Fire Captain position.
Career Path. As well as the increases included in this agreement, employees have the opportunity of further career advancement as per the Skills Classification Structure included in the Award (Appendix II).

Career Path. Should any vacant positions arise within the scope of this Agreement, consideration will be given to the suitability of current staff to fill the position on a temporary or permanent basis. Vacancies will be filled in accordance with the principles set out in Part 2 of the Public Sector Management Act.
