Pre-grievance/Complaint Stage. The Employer and the Union agree that it is important to adjust complaints and grievances as quickly as possible. It is understood that an employee has no grievance until he/she has first discussed his/her complaint with the immediate Supervisor and the matter has not been resolved. Such complaint shall be discussed with the Supervisor within nine (9) calendar days after the circumstances giving rise to it have occurred, or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee. Failing settlement within nine (9) calendar days, or within nine (9) calendar days of the Supervisor’s response, it may be taken up as a grievance in the manner and sequence outlined below. An employee is entitled, upon request, to have a Union Xxxxxxx present with her when meeting with the immediate Supervisor to attempt to adjust the complaint.

  • Complaint Stage It is the mutual desire of the Parties that the complaints of employees shall be adjusted as quickly as possible. An employee who has a complaint must bring that complaint to the attention of the immediate Manager within five (5) working days of when the employee became or ought reasonably to have become aware of the occurrence that gave rise to the complaint. It is understood that no employee has a grievance until the immediate Manager has been given an opportunity to adjust the complaint and verbally reply, which shall be a maximum of three (3) working days from the presentation of the complaint.

  • CENTRAL GRIEVANCE PROCESS The following process pertains exclusively to grievances on central matters that have been referred to the central process. In accordance with the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act central matters may also be grieved locally, in which case local grievance processes will apply.

  • Grievance Processing Union stewards or Union officials shall be permitted to have time off without loss of pay for the investigation and processing of grievances and arbitrations. Requests for such time off shall be made in advance and shall not be unreasonably denied. The Union will furnish the Employer with a list of Union stewards and their jurisdictions. The Union shall delineate the jurisdiction of Union stewards so that no xxxxxxx need travel between work locations or sub-divisions thereof while investigating grievances. Grievants shall be permitted to have time off without loss of pay for processing their grievances through the contractual grievance procedure, except that for class action grievances no more than three (3) grievants shall be granted such leave.

  • Grievance Process In the event of any dispute arising in connection with any part of this clause, such a dispute shall be processed in accordance with the dispute settling provisions of this Agreement.

  • Grievance Commissioner System This is to confirm the discussion of the parties during collective bargaining that they are committed to encouraging early discussion and resolution of labour relations issues at the local level and seek to resolve grievances in a timely and cost efficient manner. To that end, this is to confirm that pursuant to Article 8, the parties agree that the Employer and Union at individual nursing homes may agree to utilize the following process in order to resolve a particular grievance through the utilization of a joint mediation-arbitration procedure:

  • Formal Grievance - Step 2 A. If the grievant is not satisfied with the decision rendered pursuant to Step 1, the grievant may appeal the decision within twenty-one (21) calendar days after receipt to a designated supervisor or manager identified by each department head as the second level of appeal. If the department head or designee is the first level of appeal, the grievant may bypass Step 2.

  • Complaints Process The School shall establish and adhere to a process for resolving public complaints which shall include an opportunity for complainants to be heard. The final administrative appeal shall be heard by the School's Governing Board, except where the complaint pertains to a possible violation of any law or term under this Contract. The complaints process shall be readily accessible from the School’s website, as described in Section 11.4.1.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • Grievance Redressal Level 1 We are committed to resolving your queries/issues within 7 working days.   • Grievance Mediation a) At any stage in the grievance procedure, the parties by mutual consent in writing may elect to resolve the grievance by using grievance mediation. The parties shall agree on the individual to be the mediator and the time frame in which a resolution is to be reached.
