Philosophy and Approach to Performing Services Sample Clauses

Philosophy and Approach to Performing Services. Our Design Process Re-purposing a facility’s existing characteristics to meet operational and programmatic requirements for current and future occupancies is DWL’s specialty. Our approach emphasizes communication and collaboration in a design process that evolves from the working relationships formed between the Owner, occupants and design professionals. This partnering process begins early, when the major participants meet to analyze the assigned task and determine the scope of work necessary to complete the project. We encourage the involvement of all decision-makers and user groups from the design concept stage forward, as this allows the team to look globally at each component in terms of aesthetics, sustainability, maintenance, first cost and long-term value. Our design process is fluid, and our mindset is flexible. We will work with all invested parties with the goal of maximizing square footage while maintaining design excellence within the established budget. Schedule and Cost Conscious Design Crucial to the successful scheduling of every project, whether simple or complex, is the early identification of the tasks to be undertaken, the assignment of the relative responsibilities, and the defining of all deliverables. We will establish at the outset of your project a comprehensive and detailed work plan that identifies key project milestone dates. A corresponding timeline is also developed to precisely match the City’s expectations. Once the team has determined the project goals and scope of work, we provide you a written report with recommendations and a cost estimate. DWL utilizes efficient design and production techniques and tools. One of the time- and cost-saving resources we use is Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is a process that allows us to design, visualize, coordinate and communicate a project. Buildings and all their components are modeled in three dimensions on the computer, enabling us to explore design options and virtually walk our clients through their building before they make decisions
