Parental Leave Compensation. Where an employee chooses to serve the two (2) week waiting period under the Canada Employment Insurance Act before receiving benefits under the Act, she/he will receive for the first two weeks, payments equivalent to 100% of the actual weekly rate of pay that he or she was receiving on the last day worked prior to the start of the leave; and, Up to a maximum of fifteen (15) additional weeks, payment equivalent to the difference between the sum of weekly Employment Insurance (EI) benefits that the employee is eligible to receive and any other earnings received by the employee and ninety three (93%) percent of the actual weekly rate of pay which he or she was receiving on the last day worked prior to the commencement of the leave. The employee shall receive any scheduled progression on the wage grid or amended wages upon their return. Return to Work Employees returning to work from parental leave will return to their previous job position and base held at the time of their leave.

Parental Leave Compensation. Pilots serving the one (1) week Employment Insurance (EI) waiting period during Parental Leave: Pilots will be paid one hundred percent (100%) of their salary during the first week (EI waiting period) of their parental leave. For those pilots who are in receipt of EI benefits during parental leave, the Company will top-up the first week of EI payments, equivalent to the difference between the sum of the weekly EI benefit a pilot is eligible to receive and any other earnings received by the pilot and one hundred percent (100%) of the weekly rate of pay the pilot received on the last day worked prior to the commencement of the leave. Up to a maximum of fifteen (15) continuous weeks, the Company will top-up the EI payment equivalent to the difference between the sum of the weekly EI benefit a pilot is eligible to receive and any other earnings received by the pilot and ninety-three percent (93%) of the weekly rate of pay the pilot received on the last day worked prior to the commencement of the leave. Pilots not serving the (1) week EI waiting period and are in receipt of EI benefits during parental leave, up to a maximum of fifteen (15) continuous weeks, the Company will top-up the EI payment equivalent to the difference between the sum of the weekly EI benefit a pilot is eligible to receive and any other earnings received by the pilot and ninety-three percent (93%) of the weekly rate of pay the pilot received on the last day worked prior to the commencement of the leave. For clarity, all top-up payments will be determined using the standard weekly EI benefit rate of 55% of the pilot’s average weekly insurable earnings up to the yearly maximum, without regard to any election to receive a lower EI benefit spread over a longer period of time as may be permitted under the Employment Insurance Act (Canada). Quebec residents, see NOTE (2 & 3) below. The pilot shall receive any scheduled progression on the wage grid or amended wage rates upon their return to work. Return to Work Pilots returning to work from parental leave will return to their previous job position and base held at the time of their leave.

Related to Parental Leave Compensation

  • Parental Leave Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for parental leave pursuant to Clause 26.02, shall be paid a parental leave allowance in accordance with the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan. In order to receive this allowance, the employee must provide to the Employer proof of application and eligibility to receive employment insurance benefits pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. An employee disentitled or disqualified from receiving employment insurance benefits is not eligible for parental leave allowance.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.

  • Maternity Leave/Parental Leave Adoption Leave (Effective for maternity and/or parental leaves that commenced before May 1, 2019)

  • Maternity/Adoption/Parental Leave a) In accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act an employee shall be granted maternity, adoption, and/or parental leave of absence without pay.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Parental Leave of Absence A. A female unit member may use any or all accumulated leave during pre- and post-natal care for that period of time she is temporarily disabled, as determined by the unit member and her physician.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave Incentive Effective September 1, 1986, employees covered by this Agreement, hired on or after October 1, 1977, who are not entitled to disability leave under State Statute R.C.W. 41.26, shall be eligible for the following sick leave incentive program:
