Parental Leave and Other Leave Entitlements. (a) A teacher may take, in conjunction with or in addition to parental leave, any annual leave or long service leave or any part thereof to which the teacher is then entitled.

(13) (a) A Caregiver may take any annual leave, long service leave, accrued time off or time off in lieu to which he or she is then entitled, in lieu of or in conjunction with parental leave, provided that it does not extend the period to which the Caregiver is entitled under subclause (3) hereof.

An employee may take, in conjunction with or in addition to parental leave, any annual leave or long service leave or any part thereof to which the employee is then entitled. Paid sick leave or other paid authorised absences (excluding annual leave or long service leave), shall not be available to an employee during the employee’s absence on parental leave. In the event that an employee does not return to work after taking parental leave, the employee will be liable to reimburse SCEA for any deficit in the amount of annual or vacation leave accrued prior to commencing parental leave.
