Paid Adoption Childbirth Leave. It is understood and agreed that the Employer will extend to those employees in Unit 45 Paid Adoption/Childbirth Leave as is provided to the non- bargaining unit employees of the Employer pursuant to the Ohio Revised and Administrative Codes. The parties agree and understand that the Employer will administer this plan through the Human Resources Section and all employees covered by the plan will be subject to all changes made by the Employer. Employees of Unit 45 will be provided notice the same as other covered employees and the parties agree that changes may be made at the discretion of the Employer.

Paid Adoption Childbirth Leave. A. Eligibi lity All employees who work thirty (30) or more hours per week are eligible for paid Adoption/Childbirth leave upon the birth or adoption of a child. No minimum length of service is necessary to establish eligibility for this leave. Eligibility for leave is established on the day of the birth of a child or the day upon which custody of a child is taken for adoption placement by the prospective parents. To be eligible for leave an employee must be the biological parent; or in the case of adoption the emp loyee must be the prospective adoptive parent. An employee may elect to take two-thousand dollars ($2,000) for adoption expenses in lieu of the leave benefit. Payment may be requested when the court has awarded permanent custody of a child to the prospective parents. Whenever an employee adopts multiple children, the event shall be considered as a single qualifying event and will not serve to increase either the length of leave for an employee or the two- thousand dollar ($2,000) limit.

  • Parental/Adoption Leave (a) A nurse who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks and who is a parent of a child is entitled to parental leave without pay following the birth of the child or the coming of the child into the custody, care and control of a parent for the first time, shall be entitled to thirty-seven (37) weeks (provided the employee did not take pregnancy leave) of parental/adoption leave of absence without pay in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario as may be amended from time to time, except as hereunder set out in this article.

  • Maternity/Parental/Adoption Leave Maternity/Parental/Adoption leave shall be granted as a right as per the Employment Standards Act.
