NRC Responsibilities. NRC is the key stakeholder in this process; accurate information sharing will contribute to a thorough Gap Analysis and assessment of migration risks. IBC understands there may be a need to work with contractors acting on behalf of the NRC. However, being a government entity, the NRC will be the formal decision making body on all decisions. The roles and responsibilities for NRC and IBC's staff will be clearly stated for each activity involved with the analysis. NRC will provide notification of any changes in points of contact information or changes in job responsibilities.

The NRC will require the owners/operators of the UNC Church Rock mill (UNC) to implement an approved on-site reclamation plan that meets all relevant NRC requirements, including 10 CFR Part 40, Appendix A, as amended. If any such plan is not complied with by UNC, NRC will take whatever actions it deems appropriate to ensure compliance.
